I've looked around and eventually based on people's experiences on various forums decided that the 627PC 5" is the one to go to but was very close to getting the 627 Pro 4"
Wish I could get my hands on a Medusa. Too bad only about 500 or so of em were ever made and half of which were shipped overseas.
The problem with the 9mm revolvers mentioned is they all require moonclips to eject reliably. To the average shooter.. that is a true pain in the ass, especially...
Everything else sounds like great advice.
Also might consider a Chiappa Rhino. I haven't handled one personally but heard great things from people who own them.
Only thing to be slightly concerned about is that it hasn't been as time-tested as the other choices out there, but I haven't...
Glad to hear some voices of reason. I just scored a 627 PC 5" for $750. Before this, I've pretty much just shot Rugers.. but after testing some S&Ws out.. I was completely sold on the trigger.
Just curious on this issue. Across several boards, I notice people swearing off current S&Ws like they're cursed monkey paws. I know most if not all people are not fans of the internal locks.. but aside from that.. are things REALLY that bad.. or is this just another case of gunowners following...
Well, things turned out good. I'm just finalizing my deal with a gentleman to get a like new 627 5" PC for $750. Downside is no aluminum case and wood grips, but I didn't really have a need for those. The gun literally looks like its fresh out of the box.
I like both so I didn't vote. I started off with a 6" Ruger GP100 but I've since pretty much traded that in +$200 for a used, but like new PC 5" S&W 627. I think I'll be making off pretty well after all is said and done.
Definitely been keeping my eye out for this one. Originally I wanted one of the full sizers, but I think the small one appeals to me more now. After I get my 627, this will probably be my next purchase if it ever makes the CA roster or someone has one I can do a PPT with.
Thanks for the input again guys. I may just go with the 4" Pro model seeing as it looks like a better overall size for standard usage and it'll save me $200. On a side note, on the S&W forum (not official) there are plenty of rumors of a S&W price drop (already see rebates going around.. though...
A lot of people seem to think the Pro Series are one of the best values. You get alot of PC stuff like cylinders cut for moon clips as standard affair.
Hah, wow. Didn't know you were a mod in this forum. Thanks for the answer. Its very hard to find some unbiased answers as I know gunlovers can get carried away with wanting the best and believing the money they spent is worth it. So its always the ones that goes against the grain with proper...
Hi there, new here. Registered because I wanted to find a place that specifically targets revolvers. I'm a wheelgun guy first, semi-auto second.
IN any case, here is my situation:
I am interested in purchasing a S&W 627 8-shot. Currently I can get a standard Pro-Series one for $770 with 4'...
