A basically pristine Browning A bolt in .257 Roberts. A non shooting/hunting friend was selling off his father's guns and I hesitated, told him, "Sure, I'll call you later"
Called back 2 hours later and it was gone. I'm a dummy. :/
Yes, it's clockwise and push forward. IMHO, This is not so very different than my .32 H&R Police Undercover except for the 7th round in the wheel. Mine's six.
I kind of like my old (1969) 9 round High Standard Sentinel Deluxe...
Plinking out wheels of .22 at the range is a joy.
Especially since .22 rimfire is so "cheap and easily available"... :scrutiny:
.38 Special...
That's the caliber that got into "rolling my own" back in the late Sixties!
Lee Loader, (Whack-A-Mole) would let you turn out a few hundred round in your spare time at very little expense, and without committing to a dedicated reloading bench/area of your home. (I.E. you can...
I shoot the .454 and have run some .45LC through it, The LC is the parent case for the .454 so Yeah, you could trim them to size & the would load in the cylinder. Experimenting to find the right primer/powder combo would be interesting.

Here's a good piece on them from The Truth About Guns .com...

My deciding factors,,,
Home defense,
Concealed carry,
Woods carry,
Range fun.
My choices are most influenced by;
Where I live,
Where I hunt,
Where my travel takes me.
Caliber? .357
Ammo cost? N/A, Roll my own,,, :)
My Rem 700 SPS likes 95 grain Combined Technology ballistic Silvertips over 35.5 Gr. of IMR 4064.
As with damn near everthing, your mileage may vary,,,,
I went to an Appleseed last spring, took my 10-22 with 4 magazines. Our shot count for the weekend was 768 rounds. :what:
( Yeah, one of the insructors kept a tally)
The 4 mags came in very handy when we shot 40 rounds in 4 minutes.
I'm planning another Appleseed this summer & taking the...
