i've removed them from 4 different mosins, only complication was the cosmoline getting on my carpet.
if you tap them out you don't face much risk of breaking them, if you try to pull them out by the spring arm, you don't have much chance of success.
my 91/30 does the same thing. don't hurt nothing. Neither of my dad or brother's m44's do it. And my other friend's 91/30 doesn't do it. Each one has a totally different feeling bolt action, and the triggers cant even be compared one to another.
I wouldn't worry about it.
You shoot x54 cause it's cheap, but you might end up buying an $800 rifle to safe money on ammo? That totally confuses me.
Get a good MN 91/30, then get a scope mount and turned down handle HERE Then get an ATI Monte Carlo stock. You just got a rifle that will meet the needs you...
a Second is more time that it would take a zombie/thug to pull the trigger on their loaded weapon. To me it's not worth that risk. I'll be responsible and well trained and familiar with my carry piece(s) before i ever even consider carrying them. Then i don't have to worry about being ready...
nice!! the satin bersa's are very sexy! I had an all blued series 95 that i sold several months back... still kicking myself for that, but hey, made money on the deal that turned into another gun, so can't complain i guess
+1 for buying due to gun grabbers
and
+1 for buying due to self preservation
looks to me like 2 good reasons to go buy another gun.. or 2.... heck maybe even 3 or 4.
ooh, and lots of ammo... LOTS AND LOTS of ammo!:D
looks pretty nice! I just ordered my SKS tech sights, I can't wait to take them out and do a comparison to the stock sights and see the difference it makes.
ooh, and a set for my marlin 60 will be next..
Heck -
That's a nice Paratrooper SKS-M you've got there. really nice. I've only actually ever seen 1 of them. Definitely worth a more than your run of the mill SKS. If i were you I'd stock up on AK mags for that bad boy!
Now back to the OP.
I've got a Norinco, my dad's got a Yugo...

Cash is king... and a king that is spread all over the place in pieces isn't a very good king...
So, no, i don't to lay away... I stuff my "gun fund" cash in the safe until it's big enough to go get what i want all at once.
Chinese SKS. very close behind a MN 91/30
now i'm looking for a .22 semi auto pistol cause .its getting too expensive to shoot all the time now with more expensive calibers
Ditto, just check the head spaces and if they're good just pop a few rounds through it at arms length away from your body. that's worked on 4 mosin's for me.
a Man after my own heart
those are my rifles! got a 91/30 2 M44's and 2 SKS's (one Chinese, one Yugo) in the family. they are great, GREAT guns, all of them.
your boys have some good pieces of history, and really fun to shoot rifles waiting on them! (not to mention the fun of shooting a...
