Did a quick google check and it seems the .45 doesn't gain much in a rifle ,makes sense. I wonder if you could use a slower than normal powder to take advantage of the bbl length? Buffalo Bore claims a .45+p 255 hard cast @ 960fps out of a 5" bbl. Even if the rifle only gained 30-50 fps with...
How long is the barrel on that thing? I think you could use a SWC load and get some pretty impressive velocity with a .45 rifle. Have you chronoed that thing?

That triangular barreled remington, I can't stand it. It makes me angry for some reason. Also, any gun that is pink, I hope that goes without saying. Should be illegal. That gold desert eagle makes me want to smack someone as well, I hate it.
I used to use H110 for all my .357 mag heavy loads, but have switched over to AA#9 for the handguns. I still use H110 for my marlin 1894c, but in the 3" & 4" revos I have found AA#9 to be much cleaner, WAY less flash, equal velocity and superior accuracy.
I know what you're saying and agree to an extent, but the reason I said I think it should be taught in schools (public or private) is that not all parents know about guns or want their kids to and I don't think it should be an option in our society to learn about them or not. I think it should...
"safety is always a topic I touch on before I hunt with someone new."
+1
I've been hunting with new people who were suppose to be old school, been around this forever etc. and had them sweep me with loaded weapons several times in a day. It was uncomfortable since I was invited to their...
I'm sure this has been done over and over, but I figured I would throw it out there anyway...
Here are some expanded XTPs and a 180 hardcast out of a 4" gp100. I've been using wine boxes lined with plastic bags filled with water and backed by soaked phone books. The wine boxes are easier to...
I own both those handguns. One thing to think about especially with your wife having tiny hands- my wife also has tiny hands and almost no hand strength. She has trouble pulling the trigger DA (even with the wolff springs) on both those revos and trouble even cocking them, she can do it, it's...
I would like to see gun safety taught in schools. I think it would save a lot of lives. I've seen ND's happen and have several friends who have seen them or almost been killed by them. It can never be taken seriously enough. I knew a guy when I was younger that pointed a gun at a persons chest...
Hardened infantry man with a k98 who's seen a lot of combat vs joe blow off the street with any modern rifle: my money's on the infantry man. Yes a modern weapon might have some advantage, but not enough...
I don't know about the rifle before handgun thing, but I totally am with you on gun safety. I've seen so many careless people holding guns in the last 25 or so years i've been hunting. It amazes me that more people aren't shot.
I've been doing a lot of expansion/penetration testing with my 4" gp100 lately with 158 & 180 xtp & 180 hard cast- the hard cast has more than double the penetration of the xtps. How was the wound channel with the buffalo bore?
