This may be an unusual question, but I am looking for some guidance. I have been carrying a J-Frame 642 Centennnial AirWeight for the past three years. It is a special edition that has the 2 1/8 underlug barrel, like a model 60. With a Crimson Trace grip it is easy to shoot. My problem is I...
I have been wanting a SW Bodyguard 380 but have held off due to early QC problems. Does anybody have experience with the newer releases? Are the QC issues mostly resolved?
Thanks for any insight.
My local shop has a very clean used Freedom Arms 252 revolver for sale. This is the 10" silhouette version but it does not have a rear sight. Instead it sports a nice silver Leupold 4X scope. I know these are pricey revolvers. They are asking $1495 for the package, don't think they have the...
Just picked up a Bushmaster V Match (used). If I want a lighter trigger pull is a spring mod the first step? I am new to the AR platform.
I know I could drop in an entire assy, like a two stage or something. But the current dingle stage is fine, just want it about 25% lighter.
Done lots...
I am considering this firearm for my "in the car gun."
There are two used guns available to me, one in 9mm and one in 40cal. I don't want to start the never ending debate on the superior caliber....
Just want to know how snappy the 40cal will be. I have had several subs in 9mm and assume...
I have a chance to pick up a new Raging Bull blued with 6" barrel at a special sale my local dealer is having. This revolver has always been a temptation for me and with the price that is available I am thinking now is the time. But, even though I have had multiple SW revos in .38 special...
I have a XP100 action with a custom bull barrel that is currently sitting in a Choate Sniper stock. I would like to get a more traditional bench stock but am not sure what inlet to start with. Can a 700 inlet be modified? Or the XR100 stock? Or do I just get a blank and have the gunsmith do...
With the recent surge in activity in AR purchases....I was wondering what the safe queen that I have for plinking would be worth. I have a Bushmaster Carbon 15 AR in 9mm with two 30 round mags. This rifle is a flat top with adjustable sights and a rail for mounting goodies. In fact I have a...
I a going to be testing some 280 Remington loads on a custom build Winchester 70 I recently purchased. This rifle has won competitions at 500+ yds with a skilled shooter (not me ;) however.) I will be using the rifle with Redfield sights rather than a scope. But I received a BSA Contender...
I am looking at loads for .280 Remington and have pulled lots of data from my existing manuals, online resources and the friendly folks on this site.:)
But Sierra has several bullet weights that I have not found load data for and wondered if anyone could scan and email the Sierra Reloading...
I currently reload 6.5X55 Swede with a variety of bullets for use in a Winchester M70. When I reload I always do full case resizing when depriming.
Is it necessary to do full case resizing every time or would neck sizing alone be enough with this lower pressure round in a bolt action...
I am waiting for a newly purchased rifle in .280 Remington to arrive. (Merry Christmas to me:p)
Can anyone give me their preferred loads for long range target?
Also, I am interested in the 100gr varmint bullet that Sierra has....any info on shooting this in .280 Rem?
Thanks....
Brownells features some nice synthetic stocks for the Savage rifles. They have a bench version that looks pretty nice but it is hard to tell from the catalog...and it is less than $300. Any body had experience with these stocks?
I want to use it with a Savage 112 that has been...
I have a custom barreled Winchester M70 that is chambered in 6.5X55. The typical bullet that I have shot in my Swedish Mausers has been the 140gr Sierra MatchKing HPBT. That bullet shoots fine in this rifle. But I have also developed a load with Sierra 85gr Varmint HP's that is extremely...
FranklyTodd did a wonderful job with his post earlier. I had just picked my PX4 Sub when I read his report. And, after finishing up all the "honey doos" I slipped out to the range today and threw a few mags through the little pistol.
Let me say that it doesn't shoot like a "little" pistol...
After all these months (or is it years?) this pistol has finally shown up at my local dealer. I have mixed emotions, it feels nice in my hand, like the trigger and reset, saftey is not as bad as I thought it would be....but it does remind me of a small power tool....kinda chunky.
With that...
I have been measuring my 6.5X55 powder loads with a Lyman digital scale for accuracy and consistency. However, time is valuable and I want to consider an auto powder dispenser.
What models can anyone recommend as a preference?
Also, how many rounds do you load before you recalibrate or...
I have been considering getting a 22-250 instead of a 223. Initially I was just going to shoot targets and the 223 was the choice. But now I am considering some 300yd+ groundhog hunting and I know that the 22-250 is probably superior for that use.
According to what I have read, and my Speer...
I just started reloading recently. Am learning on 6.5X55 Swede and so far, so good.
My question is this:
I am looking at a rifle in 22BR that says it has a .246 neck. Does this mean that I need to use a neck sizing die in addition to the standard full length sizing/depriming die...
OK, be nice...this may be a dumb question:(
Can you adjust a rifle for excessive headspace??
I have a Swedish Mauser CG63 that has a custom bull barrel installed. This barrel has very good lands and grooves, I don't think it was shot nearly as much as the rest of the action...
