First of all, congrats on your purchase. It seems like everyone is making a polymer striker fired handgun these days and I own at least one of most of them. Even in this crowded group filled with excellent firearms the VP9 impresses. I have been thoroughly pleased with the VP9. It pretty...
You don't put your finger on the trigger unless you are planning to fire, you use care when reholstering and you ensure that your holster provides solid encasement of the trigger.
That being said, most striker fired guns ship with triggers in the 6-8lb range. 3.5lbs typically takes some work...
Depends on your level of skill and your rate of fire.
In a slow fire no pressure environment such as the range there should be little difference unless you are a beginner.
When the rate of fire increases the longer reset on the P250 trigger will make fast follow-up shops more difficult. If...
There is a balance between shootability and safety that each individual needs to find for themselves.
I believe that the trigger in the P320 is "better" since for most people it will produce more rounds on target. I also agree that the trigger on the P250 is safer in some circumstances...
I moved out of Massachusetts a while back but if memory serves you need an FOID card to own/buy any firearms or ammunition. Getting a concealed carry permit was *very* difficult in much of the state unless you know someone.
Definitely want to do your research before you travel there.
I have a number of automatics but the two that get used the most are the Benchmade AFO II and the Pro-Tech Newport.
The AFO is a big durable pocket knife and the release is large and easy to press even with gloves on.
The Newport is small and the clip goes all the way to the top so it...
Stock FNS9 vs stock standard M&P I prefer the FNS. Takes a few rounds for the trigger to loosen up though. With a full complement of Apex parts the M&P will have a much better trigger. Honestly, I don't notice much difference in felt recoil between any full size polymer 9mm handgun.
That...
The Glock 19 and the USPc have the most utility. They are small and light enough to be carried. Big enough to be fun to shoot at the range and/or used as a home defense gun.
The Sig M11-A1 and the HK MK25 are the pieces that are the most interesting, at least to me, from a collection...
Now that the P320, which uses the exact same frame but has a much improved trigger is out, I would go with that instead.
Regardless of which one you go with I would recommend buy the Compact(C) model and then just getting an SC frame to go with it. Basically two guns in one for an extra $45.
I have one. Ergonomics are greatly improved over the original XD from my perspective. Grip fits the hand well for me. FO sights are big and easy to acquire.
Trigger feel is mostly the same though. I wish they would have upgraded the trigger to be more in line with some of the newer striker...
