    GP100 DIY trigger job

Iowegan knows his stuff! AND, from personal experience, if you go too far Ruger will return to factory spec. Do be careful with the light weight springs. On my blackhawk I opted against reducing main spring but did give a slightly lowered trigger return spring. This does increase smoothness...

HK P2000 - A Range Report 14 Years In The Making. Second Chances At First Love

I personally favor the LEM and I'll tell you why - it provides a platform for carry that is simple and very similar to revolvers. With LEM in place there is no manual decocker and no manual safety. The firearm has the following 3 functions: 1. load/release magazine 2. Rack slide to chamber 3...

    S&W 642

Athletic fit relaxed jeans from the Goodfellow brand at Target fits my SP101. I can get a 442 in regular Docker's khakis no problem. Pocket holster from Robert Mika's (Mika's) Also favor Crossbreed Supertuck for IWB.

    S&W 642

I've had 642, 442, M&P 340, Centennial .44 special. 642 will serve you well. Current BUG for me now is hammerless Sp101. You trade concealability in gym shorts but gain increases in control and power. Opening up the .357 platform a little more without punishing your hands. Note size comparison...

Ruger Sp101 as a concealed carry piece?

I just treat it like a J frame, throw it in the pocket, and load it up with +P FBI loads or with Barnes. Happy to have it and it succeeds for me in a pocket equally as did a 442 or M&P 340. With the 3" a deep IWB may be preferable. I'm a fan of the platform but there is plenty out there to find...

    44 special home defense ammo

They would be incredibly easy to shoot in a Redhawk and if they hit point of aim - go for it. Assuming you mean the 200 grain Barnes Tac-XP round:

    LSWCHP out of Snub Nose?

Magsafe and Glazer slugs can be fun but I wouldn't count on them for self defense. The penetration is way too low so even if you hit on target and get a best case scenario shot the round is not up to standard. There are folks out there who have stopped whatever was bothering them with one, but...

    LSWCHP out of Snub Nose?

I agree and prefer to keep free floating lead out of my pockets for more than one reason. For speedstrips I go for the Barnes all copper bullets. Only issue is these tend to be long for their weight. Rexster is on point with the polymer tipped hornady rounds. Perfect for additional reloads.

    LSWCHP out of Snub Nose?

There is some nice discussion of it here: https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/ballistic-gelatin-test-results-buffalo-bore-150gr-hard-cast-wadcutter.275800/ Of particular interest to me are the post from Sundles (Tim Sundles, owner of Buffalo Bore) and also from Old Fuff, a beloved...

    LSWCHP out of Snub Nose?

Buffalo Bore LSWCHP +P in the SP101 is great due to the weight of the all steel firearm. Their standard pressure LSWCHP as well as their full wadcutter (150 grains) have less perceived recoil to me than than say the + P short barrel gold dot in lighter platforms (442, as an example) and they...

    The Ruger "Carryhawk"

@CraigC given this is a large frame blackhawk, do you think it is up to .45 LC + P loads? Thinking of the 330 grain Buffalo Bore rounds comparable to .44 Magnum. Some discussion way back about the .45 LC new vaqueros on the medium frame reportedly not designed for those pressures so curious as...

Do you like your 5" GP100 44 special???

I can vouch for the gp100 it is a great firearm by design and perfect with the 200 grain hardcast wadcutter from Buffalo Bore. More of an appeal to me for concealed carry than for game or woods defense although it would do the job it is not optimized for it. But some of it falls to what is cool...

    LCR 38+P Flame Cutting

Picture would help. On the KLCR's built for .357 Magnum cartridges Ruger installed a piece of metal over the BC gap to protect the frame.
