I wish to purchase a revolver especially for idpa. I have come across a S&W 15-2 which appears to be unused. The one area of concern is the little spring-loaded thing that goes into the notches on the cylinder. Sometimes it allows the cylinder to spin ala the "Russian Roulette" thing. When...
I have a Smith 586 in 6 inch which is, of course, not allowed in Idpa by virtue of barrel length. My revolver weighs 48 oz. and I don't think lopping two inches off the barrel would get it under the 42 oz. limit. Does anyone know the exact weight of a 4 inch 586?
I have a S&W 586 that has, I believe Hogue grips on it. There is one screw at the bottom holding them on. I don't care for the sort of squishy feeling and would prefer the Pachmyr feel. Optics planet has some at reasonable prices but I'm not sure of the difference in butt type.
When i took my first firearm safety course, admittedly not long ago, my instructor said; "since you're shooting a revolver you can place your support thumb over the strong hand because the slide is not an issue. My next gun was a glock 17 so i went with the more conventional two thumbs together...
Found a very clean S&W 19-3 for $499 at Cabelas. I posed a question regarding a good revolver for IDPA and this model was mentioned as a good candidate. I don't know much about values of guns. What do y'all think?
I carry a Smith & Wesson 642 with Crimson Trace and am interested in a similar gun for idpa matches. It seems that a six shot cylinder would be most popular. a 3 or 4 inch barrel would be best and good stock sights are a must. I guess .38 or better is required Any ideas?
