In the wake of this San Bernadino trajedy, the Dems started their rhetoric about gun control before the horror was even played-out. It's been found that these terrorists gained their guns legally (I'm not sure how the wife could, as a citizen of Qatar, maybe it was just Farood who obtained the...
Since my work does not permit carrying (Military Installation), I carry if/when I leave from the house to go somewhere. Most times, in the interest of efficiency, my stops are on the way home from work, so I don't carry as much as I'd like. Even tho VA is OK to Open Carry, I always carry...
I grabbed a Polish Radom P64 at the last gun show for $201 out-da-door. Almost identical to Walther PPK in size and form, shoots 9X19 Makorov rounds (6+1) Compact, blended edges, great for pocket carry. IWB, I forgot I even had it on last outing. Shoots nice POA, safety decocker, weighs 32oz...
My Sigma .40 is locked in a safe with lighted push-buttons, along with tactical flashlight, and spare mag. The small safe is then anchored to the 70's style console TV next to the bed. (They won't carry THAT safe downstairs and outta the house when I'm at work!) My last teenager is still @ home...
Spock called, he wants his Phaser back!!! :D I DIG it!
Seriously, that looks like you need a Federation Uniform to carry it. You don't even need bullets, just draw, fiddle with the back of it and say:"Set phasers to KILL."
My Sigma .40 does it every time with a firm insert of a full mag. -Swift, singular motion <insert> and the slide chambers the round every time. 1300rds so far ike this. It may not be the 'preferred method', but it works for this model.
My vote is for SW Sigmas, 9mm or .40, they go BANG every time, no matter what ammo you stuff 'em with. They get a bad rap for being cheap, plastic, with a stiff DAO trigger. But there's no other safety, so the trigger prevents AD's like it was supposed to. SW40VE is my CCW, and stands bedside...
I bet somebody modded the trigger to lighten it up. It's acommon practice to pull one of the sear springs (there are 2, 1 inside the other) wich can casue the reset isue you're having. Others put a lighter striker spring in, but that usually causes FTE with hot +P rounds. Lastly, the pigtail...
My Sigma .40 does it, but it's not due to any poor design. It's not just a little "bump" that causes this, it's a deliberate, assertive action that will cause it. I've been wrenching on cars for 35yrs, and tend to be rather ham-fisted. When I slam the mag home the "autoload function" kicks in...
S&W Sigma goes "BANG" everytime for me, with anything I feed it. Feels LOTS better than a Glock in hand, no safety, simple to strip. If you don't like the trigger, the M&P is smoother and lighter, same reliability. I haven't shot a SD40, but it's got the better trigger of the M&P, and the...
Some gun ranges that ban steel shot won't allow it, although I see nothing in the packaging alluding to any steel other than the casing. I had no problems with the 100rds of .40S&W I ran thru my Sigma, other than it's stinky and dirty.(Who cares, I clean my gun after every range session, anyway)...
Sigma .40 (SW40VE)
Light, compact, 14+1. Conceals SOB ITP = Invisible.
Trigger is DOA, (feels like a revolver) won't shoot yerself in the ass while drawing weapon! (No safety, ready to run!) It WILL, however, stop whatever is in front of it. I don't have large hands by any means, but wrenching...
I've got a buddy who owns all revolvers due to his "South Paw Condition" :neener: He likes .38 and .357, but I'm sure he would dig a 9mm Semi-auto if he could find one that's ambidextrous. He is looking to CCW with it. What do ya'll recommend?
I got a box from Dick's Sporting goods, 250rds for $64. (Soft lead, no jacket) Blew threw 150rds of it yesterday, no FTF, FTE, goes bang every time. (Sigma SW40VE) There were a few aluminum casings, most all were brass.
Left some lead in the barrel (to be expected) which came loose after...
I didn't mind the trigger much, since I'm used to revolvers, like I said. I DID, however, disassemble the trigger and polish the applicable parts to smooth the gritty action. I left all springs intact, however. I like having the same action, every time, IMHO.
