I was bought a 30/30 and 22lr by my father who was not a hunter/shooter when I was 13 I still own them and would never sell them and purchased several other firearms before I turned 18
I always shoot and share but I usually go with 3-5 good buddies and we all have free range to use each others guns but if there happens to be some fellow shooters we don't know and I catch them trying not to stare at one of my guns I will offer to let them shoot it
I would have to disagree on the Hunters are'nt gun hoarders I know a lot of hunters around these parts that I would say very few of them have less than 5k invested in guns mostly 8k-15k
I liked the old platform as well is only me or does midway run slower and freeze up too now ? ? ? it's the only site I have the problem with but won't keep me from spending my money there
PLEASE USE EARPLUGS
I'm only 21 and suffer hearing damage it is very frustrating talking with friends and contantly having to say "what" or just stand there and nod your head and say yep I was never really taught about ear protection I just figured it was normal for your ears to ring a few...
I would just buy an entry level ar-10 for about $1000 save up some money and pick up a decent scope you don't need a trigger or new barrel but parts are readily available if you with to do so. Have you thought about a Rem 750 synthetic they look kinda tactical and cheaper
It's pretty easy but I would get a trigger gauge first you don't want to make it too light. I think if i'm remembering right all you have to do it take the stock off and adjust it with a allen wrench.
I doub't you could build an AR-10 in that price range. Most people build AR's to make them custom and say they built them not to save money. I could have bought 4 cheap new ar's (dpms) for the price it cost me to put mine together after optics.
I'm not a fan of the .410 either I'm more of a 12 gauge guy and 20 gauges are for boys anything smaller I don't have a purpose for. you can buy small game/pellet rounds for just about any pistol round
