9mm LCR - are loose bullet issues real and any reliable brands

For me the Federal "Champion" 115 grain jumped. After firing two rounds, the remaining three bullets had slid out 1/8 of an inch. After firing three, the remaining two bullets were out of the cases and powder had spilled out. OTOH, I also tested Winchester White box and Fiocchi (both 115...

    .357 Lever Guns?

So it might be a good time for me to unload the LNIB JM 1894 I've been hoarding?

    all around handgun?

To answer the original question, I'd suggest a 4" .357 (I'd go with the Ruger personally). I wouldn't suggest moon clips for a first/only gun (but do see the appeal of cheap 9mm). I've never shot one, but suspect an LCR in .357 would not be a painless proposition-the 9mm is just about right...

    Finally got my 44 mag!

As you should be. Mine is that age and we mainly shoot .22 lr. She is also very good safety-wise. Nice trade. I'd much rather have that revolver than an AR or a Glock.

.41 mag secondary hunting weapon barrel length?

Don't know much about .41 Mag, but I picked 5.5 as that's what I use for similar purpose in .45 Colt. That's if your going with a chest holster or cross draw. On your belt I'd go a little shorter. Obviously in a state that required 6" that would be the choice and wouldn't make much difference in...

    Anyone Tired of Ruger's Sights?

On the Mark II and 22/45 the front sight always fell off before it could get too decrepit. Maybe this was a feature?

What is different between " register handgun” and "apply handgun license" in Maryland?

There are some exceptions, but this is true for most people. Exceptions include exceptions to the HQL itself and also exceptions to the training requirement (which requires one round of live fire). Note that Maryland defines assault weapon in a weird way (well, I guess lots of states vary in...

Can a resident from VA to Maryland to keep any 10 rounds handgun?

Most statutes tend to tell you what you can't do, especially in MD. Reading the statute that says you can't buy or sell and noticing that it doesn't mention "import" or similar is about the best you can do. So, if for example, it says: A person may not manufacture, sell, offer for sale...

What is different between " register handgun” and "apply handgun license" in Maryland?

I second both suggestions. If you must move, go to https://www.mdshooters.com/ They have a "MD 2A Issues" forum where the question has probably already been answered. If not, lots of friendly folks there willing to help.

Indiana firefighter shoots neighbor 4 times in the chest and he lives- Gun type?

But tomorrow's Monday and we all gotta go back to work... News story I saw said no charges would be filed. It looked to me like the guy who was on foot knew what the mower guy would do, and set him up so he'd have an excuse. This has probably started to happen a few times before (hence the...

Is there some method of storing CCW handgun when entering Canada?

Avoid giving my money to a country (or state) that doesn't respect and honor my God given rights? Yeah, I'd be ok with that. Beautiful, sure, but Banf didn't look all that much different than Montana last time I checked. I remember some very attractive girls back in college, but the risks...

Can a resident from VA to Maryland to keep any 10 rounds handgun?

Maryland law bans buying/selling/transferring such mags when one is in MD. A MD resident can go to another state and buy standard size mags to bring back to MD. A person with standard size mags who lives in another state can move to MD and bring said mags along, but can not buy more (or arrange...

Gun Mfg customer service- the good, the bad, and the ugly?

Ruger was excellent. Beretta was pathetic, lying about known problems, begging me to break in for a longer period before returning it and then saying it was worn out and shouldn't be expected to last too long anyway (32 Tomcat). They lost the gun for a few months, then I tracked down the smith...

    The LawDog Files

I used to really enjoy his blog. Not sure it would appeal to everybody, but he and I appear to be similarly twisted. I'll probably get a copy.

Can a resident from VA to Maryland to keep any 10 rounds handgun?

Post #5 is correct. Bring them in now or later, just can't buy or sell them when in MD. PA gun stores sell regular capacity mags to Marylanders all the time. Note that it would also be considered illegal for you to arrange any such transaction whilst you are physically in MD. Calling or...

New gun -- Smith and Wesson 3913 LS

I have one I rarely use any more but it's never give us any problems. Let's just say mines not for sale!

    Old S&W 3914!

The only gun I have kept with the "backwards safety" is the 3913 I supposedly bought for my wife. I've phased out all of the other slide mounted, up to fire, safeties in the interest of a standard manual of arms, but can't quite bear to let that one go. Good catch, and, heck yeah I would have...

Do women really buy into the pink everything thing?

My daughter was shooting hand-me down guns at that age,. Seeing the pink guns reinforced that other girls shoot also--she just shot with my son and me. We told her Mommy used to shoot, but Mom was normally too busy to join us and not all that interested. The daughter personally didn't want a...

    Ruger SR 22

Mark III Lite? I had an SR -22 for awhile. Realized it was probably the only gun I had with a slide mounted safety (up to fire), so it really didn't work as a trainer for my family. I don't recall having any actual problems with it, it just didn't work for us.
