"Buldged Barrel" - Cut Off. Safe?

What's an "Oil Doughnut"? In order to protect the bore from corrosion, people like to put oil down the bore; especially people like me. The problem arises from not removing that oil before firing. Oil does not compress, so when the round goes down the bore the oil builds up in front of the...

"Buldged Barrel" - Cut Off. Safe?

Could be an "oil doughnut" or could be something more serious. An oil doughnut is nothing major, cut it and recrown it. But if there was a major obtstruction in the barrel that caused the bulge there could certainly be coresponding damage to the receiver and bolt. I have not seen this rifle or...

    Gunsmithing Schools?

Hey Polekat, Welding would help you out some, especially TIG welding which you may or may not get to in school. A basic machining course would be very helpful. CST is pretty good at teaching machining, but there are alot of things they don't teach; mostly simple shortcut type things (faster...

    Quick Chicago question....

Fuff, You forgot the corrupt town leaders, aldermen, mayor, governor, state representatives, policeforce, and the morally corrupt citizenry.

    Quick Chicago question....

Crazed, The Glock pistol is banned by Chicago's handgun ban. The Tec-9 is considered a handgun and is likewise banned. The Tec-9 is also banned under the Cook County assault weapons ban which states that any handgun with a magazine forward of the trigger guard is a no no. Hope this...

    Gunsmithing Schools?

I just finished at the Colorado School of Trades. What school you go to will really depend on what you want to do after you graduate. CST is probably the best practical gunsmithing school, as in hands on in general repairs with a number of extracurricular armorers courses and customization...

    Russian Matrioshka - TSNIITOChMASh style

Pretty cool. I'd like to know exactly what all those rounds are. Looks like one to me; straight gas block and the flutes in the metal on the upper handguard give it away. Though that cleaning rod has some funkyness to it, or maybe a bad angle for the pic.

    What flavor is your gun?

Smith and Wesson 500: Tastes like Vegimite... an evil brutal assault on the senses. Something I can only eat one of because if I eat more I am affraid I might die. But you have to eat it once in a while to remember why you don't eat it more often.

    Browning T-Bolt

Smart. I didn't think about that and it makes sense.

    Browning T-Bolt

That's the oddest looking magazine I have ever seen. I assume the original T-bolt did not have that? If it did not, why would they go with some strange pseudo rotary S design magazine? Is there something in the design of the action that necessitates such a magazine system? But that rifle is...

    10/22 kits just for fun!

I can never remember their web address, but iron wood designs has stocks to make your 10/22 look like an AUG or walther wa2000. I believe both options have built in scope mounts. They are pricey, but very high in the neatness category( especially the walther).

    G17 and G22 parts interchangeability

The ejectors are different. The 9mm ejector has a slight bend to it, could hit the primer on the .40 if you try and clear a live round.

How many gun related Internet forum posters dose it take to change a rear sight?

100 lumens is a better darkness stopper than 75 lumens. Remember, 75 lumens might get brighter, but 100 lumens will never dim. :D

    Surprising Ben Affleck

Isn't there a site out there that lists the pro-2A actors and musicians? I'd like to see where he ranks on that site. If he is pro-2A, then that's great news as he is a very well spoken and intelligent individual(I even like his acting, sorry guys).
