I have fired several thousand lead bullets in all type of handguns. I have shot 2300 in a HK P30 that has odd rifling like a glock. No problems what so ever. I clean my barrels with Hoppes number 9, a brass brush and cloth patches. Shoot em.

I have used cci, remington, winchester, tula, federal and probably some more than i dont remember. Never had a primer fail. I dont like federal but only because of the packaging.

Anyone have any ideas other than sending it to Remington?

Some have cut down the length of the forend to solve this very problem. There is a youtube video about it.

Had one for years. Completely reliable, eats all ammo, not as accurate as my higher end 1911s but still accurate enough. Overall good gun, I would buy one again.

ruger 22/45. very nice and accurate shooter. Only drawback is they are a pain to break down.
