    Any precautions with Fireclean?

Anyone used or familiar with Fireclean? Are there any precautions with wood stocks/grips or plastic pieces to watch out for? I see a lot of AR15 users have adopted it, but curious why this wouldn't be used for a bolt action with wood stock? Thanks for the feedback. :)

Need recommendation for gun refinishing service

I have a handful of older 22 rimfire rifles that I'm interested in having refinished. I was thinking about having a few done at a time to save some costs. Primarily just barrel reblueing (I can handle the stocks). I'd prefer something local to SW Missouri or NW Arkansas within driving distance...

    Recommendation on double rifle case?

I'm leaning towards the 46" double rifle case from either Condor or Voodoo Tactical. Any advice on these or alternate? Thanks.

    Recommendation on double rifle case?

I'm looking for a recommendation for a double rifle case. It's primarily going to be used for transporting a Tikka T3 Hunter and a Colt Competition AR 15 - both scoped. I've seen a number of tactical soft cases that are meant for two rifles, but I wondered if the internal straps would rough up...

    Hi-Standard Duramatic M101 - Ammo Question

The primary reason is that I already have a bunch of HV ammo. In fact, I rarely even see SV ammo around.

    Hi-Standard Duramatic M101 - Ammo Question

I have two of these pistols. Well, actually, I have one Hi-Standard Duramatic M101 dated to 1955, and a Sears JC Higgins Model 80 which appears to date by SN to 1956 (yet Sears apparently didn't start selling these till 1957). Anyway, my question is about ammo. I haven't shot the Duramatic...

help stripping a mossberg 500 stock

I've had similar results to 788Ham, but with Citristrip - also available at your local big box hardware store. Safe for indoor use too. I give it a decent coating and let it set for about 30 minutes, then use a plastic putty knife to scrape it off - or an old toothbrush in the awkward places...

Advice on Removing Initials Engraved on Stock

Thanks everyone for the great advice. I got a chuckle out of 788Ham's post. It really does look like some kid with the initials "EFR" that got done with the first side, then flipped the rifle and started on the other. But only got through the "EF" before he was caught by his dad. LOL. I think I...

Advice on Removing Initials Engraved on Stock

I was sort of thinking the same thing. I paid $42 for the rifle as a project gun. So I don't mind putting a little effort into it. I did check Numrich's and a few other places for a stock and didn't find one. But half the fun for me is figuring a solution to the problem vs replacement. I'm...

Advice on Removing Initials Engraved on Stock

Hi All, I purchased a Springfield (Savage) Model 52-A .22 rifle with the intent of refinishing it. It had very obvious initials carved into the stock. I've gone ahead and removed the first few layers of varnish/stain so that I could get a better picture of what I'm dealing with. I have not...

Which ammo for "22 kal" rifle?

I found an old ALFA Special Karabiner rifle for sale. It is chambered for 22 Kal. Does anyone know if it will safely shoot 22 LR?

Springfield Jr Model 50 (Made by Page & Lewis) .22LR Rifle - Help finding firing pin?

Yes, I agree. I did find someone else with the exact same model who offered to take his to a local gunsmith and pattern a new firing pin off of his working one. I'm going to try that route first. My local gunsmith has also offered to look at the rifle and attempt to make one without a pattern...

Springfield Jr Model 50 (Made by Page & Lewis) .22LR Rifle - Help finding firing pin?

Hi All, I just purchased a Springfield Jr Model 50. I believe this rifle was made by Page & Lewis prior to their acquisition by Stevens/Savage. Anyway, it's missing the firing pin. I've been looking and can't seem to find a firing pin specific to the Springfield Jr Model 50. Does anyone...

Need Recommendation on 28 Gauge Over/Under

I've read positive things about the CZ guns being Huglu imports. And I frequent CDNN, it's where I purchased my Browning Cynergy in 20ga. I've been keeping an eye on CDNN for a while, but their current selection isn't great. I see several Lanber shotguns in 12ga, but haven't heard much about...

Need Recommendation on 28 Gauge Over/Under

Hey Guys, I'm looking for a 28 gauge over/under shotgun in the $1,000 range. At the local Academy and Bass Pro, I've got options for Yildez, Savage, Mossberg...all around or under $600. I could probably also find a Stoeger in the $400 range. Or, I could order something in like a CZ Redhead...

    The CZ Club

I'm sure we've all had those experiences where we sold a gun, only to immediately realize it was a BIG mistake. Well, I've had a few of those myself. But the two that hurt the most were getting rid of my mint condition CZ 27 and unfired NIB (without the box) CZ 1945. I sold them both the same...

    CZ-24 Issue

Digging into this a bit more. The issue only happens when the sideplate is on. With the sideplate removed, the trigger and action are fine. It appears that there is not enough clearance between the sideplate and the sear/trigger bar assembly. I will see if I can carefully remove these and...
