Are the republicans the only choice?

Nothing new under the sun here; since its inception in the 1950s broadcast journalism has been overwhelmingly leftist. It's said that in any given election a full 90% of both print and television journalists vote democratic. Now they're obviously free to vote for the candidate of their choice...

What's your opinion of Savage Arms rifles and shotguns?

Kinda contracting yourself here a little, aren't you? I mean, at first you say that they're good rifles, yet; "if they shot better or cost less I might be able to live with that." Also, I'd be interested to know just what rifles today are selling at or below Savage's prices and shooting just as...

    So, if Trump is elected...

That's the most worrisome thing to most this Tuesday: they're scared half to death of either Clinton or Trump being elected; and, depending on which side of the fence they're sitting on, they think the world's coming to an end.

    So, if Trump is elected...

Don't know about that... The more affluent among them will most likely hire bodyguards or armed security to do their fighting for them if the you know what hits the fan as they themselves --*cluck cluck cluck* -- cower under their beds.

    So, if Trump is elected...

You're right: they're not "as" worried; they're more worried. I'm 63-years-old and have yet to see anything like this; this fear of what's going to happen a few months/years down the road. Never have I read of militias threatening revolution if so-and-so's elected (at least not on this scale)...

What's your opinion of Savage Arms rifles and shotguns?

Wow! Didn't expect to see so many positive reviews on the manufacturer's wares; which begs the question: Why the very low prices on such well-liked guns? Doesn't make any sense...

    So, if Trump is elected...

A year ago if you'd asked me if I thought Trump was going to win the Republican nomination I'd have laughed in your face -- y'all get my point, I'm sure.

    So, if Trump is elected...

    The Second Amendment.

What's your opinion of Savage Arms rifles and shotguns?

Good to know; thanks, people. Saw a Savage 320 Security (18" pistol-grip pump) in a flyer today for $220 (reg. price $250) from Dick's Sporting Goods and am giving serious thought to buying it. Perty-looking thing too.

What's your opinion of Savage Arms rifles and shotguns?

Are they total "crapola" as their low(est?) prices would suggest, or are they worth the chump change shelled out? Simple enough question.

    Camping advice

Exactly the species those Ivory Tower-dwelling liberals should be most concerned with. Of course, being safely ensconced in secluded, gated communities -- with 24-hour-patrolled and, oftentimes, armed security -- they feel safe; immune to the threats that affect the "common people."

ISIS terrorist attack at Minnesota mall

btw: Hate to sound like a K9-sniffing moderator on the prowl for whatever, but, we're beginning to drift a tad from the subject, aren't we? How about those terrorist scumbags in both the homeland and the ISIS-held territories of the Middle East? ("Held" for now that is; payback's a...

ISIS terrorist attack at Minnesota mall

I see... kinda like skipping shale or other flattened stones off the surface of a pond and watching them bounce, bounce, bounce. Even though the water/asphalt is "softer", for lack of a better term, the projectile will glance upwards and hopefully hit the intended target. Am I right?

ISIS terrorist attack at Minnesota mall

OK, I give up; and I'll take the word of people more inclined to the physics aspect of the situation. (Sheesh!...feel like a dope who sweated through basic math and just enrolled in a course on quantum mechanics.)

ISIS terrorist attack at Minnesota mall

OK, maybe now I'm getting the picture... If you're that good to shoot at just the right angle/degree, the round will deflect just enough -- under...what? six inches or so of car or truck? -- to hit the bad guy in the ankle or foot? Feasible enough; but you must be one helluva marksman, I would...

    Shooting 357

You managed to rack a group like that at 30' with a 4" .357 free-hand?...and firing double action to boot? Damn, I couldn't accomplish that on my best day at 20' with a 6" .22. Nice shooting, my man.

ISIS terrorist attack at Minnesota mall

Not too sure about that... Years back I saw a TCM documentary on James Cagney. There was a scene from one of his gangster movies where he was running alongside a wall and being shot at with live ammo from a machinegun (Thompson .45 if I'm not mistaken). The man doing the shooting was obviously...

ISIS terrorist attack at Minnesota mall

Makes no sense to me either. If the target is unobstructed then it would indeed make sense; a well-calculated bounce and hit would be possible. But I can't visualize a round making contact if the target is standing behind the vehicle. Shoot however many feet in front of the obstruction and it's...

    Camping advice

Two common sense suggestions: 1) Forego taking/inviting your in-laws on any camping excursion, period. A cozy life in suburbia will no doubt afford them a better night's sleep, and the bone-chilling sounds of so vicious and deadly a beast as a gray squirrel treading the fallen autumn leaves...
