Square Deal B vs XL-750 for new reloader

35 Years ago when I got into reloading the Dillon square deal B was their entry level press and priced accordingly. While their XL 650 (750 now) was at a much higher price and these two presses didn't really compete with each other. At the time I bought the 550B and still use it today. I did...

    Dillon Dies, Prices and Backordered

I have a Dillon RL550B for over 30 years and a XL650 for many years and I like them both a lot. I had considered a SDB a long time ago when the price was more in line with introductory level for Dillon. I was shooting a lot of 9mm at the time but never did go ahead and make the purchase. Now...

    Dillon Dies, Prices and Backordered

Happy New year All, I have been out of the reloading thread for a while and was just looking at the Dillon website for their press and their pistol carbide dies. Not for myself but for friend who wants to start reloading. I have noticed that most Dillon dies are currently on backorder for a year...

    Worthless tumbler?

I have had the Lyman 1200 auto Flo tumbler for probably 30 years. I tried the pull the plug to drain the media from the tumbler method maybe twice. I find it's very noisy when the media drains and makes a mess. I just dump the load into a rotary separator (I like the Dillon one) to get my brass...

    who is making a good.......

I used the Frankfort for a while but I found it too finicky. I switched to the Dillon and find it works well for me. Usually CCI but also Tula primers. Expensive yes, but I went with the mantra of buy once cry once. My .02

22LR bolt action, magazine fed rifle-recommendations

Another vote for CZ in their current offering. I have the 452 but it is no longer available. Their current model is the 457 and I hear they are just as accurate.

Don't over pay for ammo and reloading supplies

When it comes to auctions I bid my high price which I think is fair and leave it at that. If you have to have it at any price then that's on you. Some people just got into the game and feel that something is better than nothing and are willing to pay the price and that's fine by me. Not the same...

Stopped at my LGS today, no guns to be had

Funny thing is I started the buying process back in the beginning of February. I live in NJ and here we need to apply for a permit to purchase for all handgun purchases. This normally takes 6 weeks or so in my township. After waiting weeks and months to get your permit to purchase We still have...

Stopped at my LGS today, no guns to be had

OP here, I have to add that my LGS will usually order what I want if he doesn't have it in stock. He didn't even bother to check with his suppliers today. Also that he has no inventory tells me that for the reason he gave or supply and demand he couldn't restock his shelves. I'm sure that he...

Stopped at my LGS today, no guns to be had

As the title states I stopped at my LGS today looking for a new S&W 9mm EZ or maybe a Walther PPS in 9mm. They Had virtually bare shelves with just a few used handguns in stock. And he stated that nothing is available and none are being made as there are no raw materials for manufacture. He said...

    Dillon support

I have been a Dillon fan for more than 30 years. I started with their RL550b in the eighties and a few years ago I bought a 650. I have too many Dillon products to list at the moment. All have given me good service so I stick with the brand. I like their stuff and wouldn't change brands...

    MidwayUSA shipping time.

Agree. They talk about fast shipping but it's just words. They might pack your order and get it to shipping deptartment fast but, In reality it can be a few more days before the trailer leaves the loading dock. They wait until the trailer is full before it goes out. I was told this some time ago...

Thoughts on a RCBS lube a matic

I have a RCBS lubrisizer for a few years now. Works great no problems. I find I get into the process of double checking my bullets by a quick look before running them thru the sizer. Check out the Cast boolits forum great info especially for a newbie.

Why is there a gun and ammo panic now?

I understand in years past the rush to buy guns and ammo .When the political winds shift or we face natural disasters people want to be prepared . Storms, power outages and civil unrest are really trying times and can bring out the worst in people. The corona virus is a difficult situation for...

My problem (as a person working in the industry) with GunBroker

Yes you raised a good point and one that I realized a long time ago. What you see listed on the for sale sites online is what didn't sell. Be it E bay gun broker or the myriad of for sale sites out there. What you need to do is look up recent past sale prices to get an idea of true market value.

Using the dish washer to remove lube and clean rifle brass after resizing

This method works for me as well. I use the Dillon case lube and then load progressively on a Dillon 650. After that I follow the above process to clean off the lube. When I wet tumble I just let the cases dry naturally in the sun . If I need to load right away I don't wet tumble I use corn cob.

Will a CZ 75 mag fit a Browning High Power?

Thanks for the responses and sources. I must have confused the CZ with another model. I do remember there being High Power clones made some time ago. I thought it was CZ but I guess not. I have never held a CZ 75 or I guess I would have known.
