    Colt 1911 9mm

I have heard that the Colt 1911 9mm barrel is inaccurate and that after market barrels are better, is this true? Also, does anybody have any information on a "MODEL 1972" Colt 1911 9mm? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

    Cleaning brass?

Thumblers' is the way to go! Wet or dry, no problems, no dust, no vibration hum noise. If you think about it, those vibratory things just beat themselves to death the second you turn them on. The big thick black gasket on the drum will take years to wear out. Thumblers is it!

    New Dillon 650XL Press

Forget the Dillon powder check, all it does is eat batteries. Get a Powder Cop or Powder Check die.

    Clean before or after sizing

Tumbling loaded ammunition is a DANGEROUS thing. Not because a bullet may ignite the primer of another round in the tumbler. Powders are milled to a specific size and shape then sometimes coated with inhibitors to achieve a specific burn rate. When powders are tumbled the size and shape of the...

    s&w 44mag da recommendations

Get a Smith and Wesson, firing a Ruger is like driving a tank! I've got a 629 - 5" with one of those stoned and honed trigger packages and it's all that and more. I did a side-by-side comparison between Ruger and S&W with the same ammo at a range before I paid the cash and the S&W convinced me...

    Whera are the pistolsmiths?

I was schooled in engineering and have the Kuhnhausen books but that don,t make me a pistolsmith! My problem is that sometimes after firing the Python it leaves a small fingernail shaped half moon piece of the bullet jammed between the cylinder and the forcing cone. It's obviously a timing...

    sticky python

Thanks for all the good advice everyone, I really appreciate it. It seems to be functioning correctly now. If it happens again I'll send it to Colt and have a professional give it a quality tune up. It's a really nice revolver with an Exxxxx serial number that still shoots straight.

    sticky python

After putting about 100 rounds through a newly acquired Python the trigger would not return leaving me in an awkward situation. I now have a loaded revolver that can't be shot or emptied of live rounds! After banging it on the shooting table the trigger finally released (just kidding). I pushed...
