I'm noticing the references to 2'nd Generation, 3'rd Generation etc. with Colt single action Army revolvers. What does this refer to? Is it some revision level based on date of manufacture? My Dad recently gave me one he purchased new in 56. I'm wondering what "generation" would this would be.

Yep - Thanks Auschip I'm wondering if I should attempt to locate a vintage forestock to fix it. The chip is about 2 inches long. I wouldn't try to replace it unless I could find an original part. What are the odds of finding a part this old. Who sell scrap parts from old firearms?

I am trying to identify the age and model? of this remington shotgun. It has only "PATENTS FEBV.3.1903,MAY 18, 1905" AND ""REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION.NY.U.S.A" Where the barrel enters the receiver the word "FULL" is stamped and the Serial Number on the receiver is U126 It has a round ribbed...
