    Savage Model 24 Series N .22 Mag over 20 GA., my Dad bought it for me when I was 12 or 13. Great turkey gun. It has a lot of sentimentaal value to me.

    I'm noticing the references to 2'nd Generation, 3'rd Generation etc. with Colt single action Army revolvers. What does this refer to? Is it some revision level based on date of manufacture? My Dad recently gave me one he purchased new in 56. I'm wondering what "generation" would this would be.

    Yep - Thanks Auschip I'm wondering if I should attempt to locate a vintage forestock to fix it. The chip is about 2 inches long. I wouldn't try to replace it unless I could find an original part. What are the odds of finding a part this old. Who sell scrap parts from old firearms?
