What's your preferred every day carry?

Nice Kimber; I have one of those. Wife has one too. Mine Ultra Carry II, hers Ultra CDP II.

What would make you get rid of a gun that had nothing wrong with it? (Kind of a random ramble)

I have probably owned over 100 handguns in my lifetime. I have also owned exactly 100 motorcycles (and always on the lookout for the next one). Motorcycles take up a lot more space, have higher entry fees, and higher recurring costs (registration, insurance, depreciation, maintenance) so having...

5 Bucket List/Wish List Handguns That Would Cover Your Needs?

Good topic, and timely. For a number of years, I had a "magic number" of guns which I would hold myself to (safe space), and a self-imposed policy of "Want to buy one? Gotta sell one." In the last few years I have sold a few and bought very little, so I have some room in the safe...and I have...

    Curio & Relic Carry Piece

I bought a 70+ year old S&W .38/44 Heavy Duty six months ago. After doing some maintenance and replacing a few parts, and working up some loads, I have carried it from time to time. And expect to continue to do so. It's just another N-frame, and I have carried and trusted a number of N-frames...

    10/22 scope

Thanks to all who replied. Today I found a stainless Leupold STD base locally, went and picked it up, and installed. Looks great, just need to take it out and sight it in. @CraigC, may I assume that "AO" is adjustable objective? And how do I tell if it is AO or not? Best regards, Rich

    10/22 scope

I guess Leupold also makes those 90 degree twist off mounts for a 10/22 as well...had one up on the screen a few minutes ago but lost it...

    10/22 scope

So, what kind of rings should I be looking at? And, just dug the scope out and had a better look at it. It actually has a set of rings on it. A bit of research indicates that they are Redfield 90 degree twist-off mounts. Now I just need to find the correct base (seem to recall a one-piece base...

    10/22 scope

I finally got ahold of the stainless heavy barrel/laminated stock 10/22 that I have wanted for what? 25 years? I have a Leupold 3.5x10 in the safe. Too much scope for something that will spend most of its life in the safe, with occasional forays to the 50 (and maybe 100) yard ranges. But it...

A Fixed Stock's & Fixed Carry Handle's Love Is Very Different From That Of A Square....

Had a bunch of old school ARs; these days, don't have room in my safe or my bank account for one of everything. Pretty satisfied with a couple modern configuration ARs, which to be honest I don't shoot much these days anyway....

    9mm 1911 ,who would want one ?

Have a friend who really loves his 9mm 1911, but he does not put a lot of rounds downrange. I owned two Springfield EMPs when they came out, maybe 10-15 years ago? Liked them but didn't love them, and they went to new homes. Guess I never "got" the 9mm 1911. I have owned dozens of .45 acp 1911s...

    H&R .32 top break issues

Thank you to all who replied. I did note that with the hammer removed, the trigger is not spring loaded to the forward position, so the broken trigger spring sounds like a strong possibility. Anyway, I don't have any interest in keeping it--not a BP guy, and I don't need another project. So I...

    H&R .32 top break issues

Thanks for the reply. DA revolver, no idea what model. I have been on this board since 2005 and I'm not sure I've have ever successfully posted a pic here. Usually I have my wife post the pics to her website and then post a link here...best I've been able to do. But I'll take a few and try...

    H&R .32 top break issues

I sort of "inherited" this old .32 H&R top break. It has been sitting for perhaps 20-30 years. First I shot a bunch of lube everywhere I could. Opens and closes, and ejector function correctly. Attempting to cock the hammer, it goes back and locks there. Actuating the trigger (it's already...

    Why?

Older Colts, S&Ws, Challengers, Mustangs and Camaros/Corvettes... Common denominator--the new ones are demonstrably better then the old ones, but: Many of us grew up lusting after the former, and while the new ones are "better", they come up short in some respects...and these respects are more...

What's Special about the 44 Special.

    Hmmm...I am a fan of the .45LC. A 4" S&W M-25 is one of my favorite revolvers. But I recently "re-discovered" the .44Spl after about ten year's absence. I re-acquired a 5-shot Taurus (yeah, I know) M-441 3" blued revolver that is about the size and weight of a K-frame. Really a carry-able...

    45 ACP Short Barrel

Ten years or so ago I bought a bunch (cough cough several thou) of the Ranger 230+P, plus a bunch more Ranger 127 for 9mm. Been using it ever since in my 1911s and Kahr P45, and the Kahr PM9. Two years ago I bought a bunch of HST 230 gr. (cough cough...) and a like amount of the 147 gr 9mm...I...

    300 Blackout or 556/223?

If you reload, .300BLK. If you don't, then 5.56. Actually, if you reload, then one of each...and x39 as well :)

    Most Accurate 10mm Out-of-the-Box?

I do not qualify as a Master-Class pistol shooter, but I am pretty impressed with the accuracy and consistency of my DW 10mm CBOB.

    10mm 1911

I bought a used Dan Wesson CBOB 10mm in (I think) 2017 for about $800. This particular unit had some case-mouth smashing issues (unforgiveable for a reloader cartridge like the 10mm), but that was resolved by a good 1911-smith for about $100. All good since then. I see some for sale these days...
