I just got the steel framed compact last month. I never gave them much thought before that. I must say I'm impressed with it. I did change the hammer spring to 17 lbs, polished the internals and put the thin G10 grips on. No malfunctions yet with maybe 400 rounds or so. I can not comment on the...
Maybe I would be dead meat? My shooting is hampered switching between guns, esp Glock to whatever else is in the toybox. I recently bought 2 more guns that have thumb safeties on them. We go shoot and at least once I forget to flip it off. When I used my Kimber 1911 all the time, at matches ect...
I don't have a Taurus, but have the Lc9. Have 140 or so rounds of mixed 9mm through it. No problems so far. Biggest bummer is trigger is very long, but smooth enough. The way it carries makes up for that a bit. It's kinda like shooting my J frame. Fill out the registration online and they give...
I would not buy it. Maybe a person wants one to practice with a holster as well. At 15% smaller, it probly swims around in most holsters. Dumb on Brownings part. I know that percentage is not huge and the holster could work yada yada yada, but in the end it's still not the same and that would...
+1 on what MntCreek said. Spiral Tornado brushes were terrible. I do try and purchase brushes that have a brass ferrule instead of steel. Also I try and and get the brushes that have the core looped at the outer end to avoid gouging. Petros
Hey thanks for the reply. I opted for the binoculars and will see what I get. Well that's if I don't get anymore letters. I've still got a couple rainsuits laying around I have never even opened. The promo place said it would be a pair of binoculars similar in price to the fleece jacket. I...
Sure hope you found another brand of .22. The 94 4" I had would not go through one cylinder full without locking up. When it did fire, the bullets were key-holeing the targets. That was with 4 brands of ammo on hand. Took it back to store and got my money back. Then ponied up another 300 clams...
I'm thinkin this is the best spot to get some insight on this deal. I purchased a Elite 3200 scope and sent my documentation in months ago for a fleece parka jacket of some sort. 6-8 weeks ago I got a letter stating "due to high demand, it would be 4 more weeks or I could get my 15 bucks...
Hard to tell untill you put it all together and see what you got. The few guns I did worked fine, just were not as smooth or crisp as I wanted untill I smoothed them out.
I highly reccomend the .45 book by Jerry Khunhausen.(spell?) It is straight up to follow and makes sense. The cost of the book is only one screwed up part. Ask me how I know? I ended up machining my own hammer and sear fixtures to keep them all straight. You will want some stones to do some of...
Just a FYI for anyone that may have a tough time with the new Solo. One of my best buds got one of these about a week and a half or so ago and the thing would continuously jam. Being that ole Petros has the mini machine shop in the basement he brought it over. What I found was the roll pin going...
No not flush. Mine sticks down past the grip a ways and the front is just right to pinch my finger. I ended up putting the no extra round Pearce pinky extenders on my 36 mags. Those actually seemed to improve the shooting by giving a better grip and not pinching of course.
I take the magic words as "fun range gun". This winter I was bored and wanted another project to mess with. I was calling on a pistol and for kicks ask if they ever ordered in Howas. The manager fellow said he had a new Weatherby Vanguard with a semi heavy barrel in .308. It's built by Howa and...
The show makes me throw up a little each time I see a preview. I do watch "Top shot" cause the missus likes it for some reson. I can really vent about how hokey it is when it's on. The other show she likes is "Judge Judy", so "Top Shot" is more than bearable in comparison.
Quite the video you referenced "kodiakbeer". Didn't surprise me a whole lot. Once I had cut a tendon in my strong hand as was forced to shoot weak handed for quite a while. Started out with my G19, and got the only jams I ever had with it untill I got the hang of being a lefty and squeezing...
Got my first one a month ago, a CZ75 compact. Never even considered one before, but seen one out and about and took it home. Shot it and Hmm, kinda neat. Put the G10 slim grips on it, polished the guts and installed a 17# mainspring. This thing shoots great and puts my sig 239 to shame. Petros
I'd say my 3" Sp101 with hogue nylon grips, then 2"smith mod 60. For entertainment value the Ruger old army .45 and least favorite is the 681 smith with original stocks and .357's.....ouch
I feel your pain. I wanted a .22 revo and got a Taurus 94 with 4" barrel. It would not fire a full cylinder w/o binding. What did make it out the end keyholed the targets. Junk! Returned it to the store and ponied up and puckered up for a S&W 617. WOW, after the purchase shock, this thing is my...
Yup, trigger was terribly stiff on mine. It was fine otherwise and never bobbled. Gone down the road many moons ago for something else I couldn't live without.
