    SAO for pocket carry?

With a good holster I wouldn't worry about it. I spent a lot of time with my P238 in a pocket holster.

HK single stack or 380? will it ever happen

Would be cool if they did, but I don't really see it happening. At least not anytime soon.

What handgun should replace the Army's M9?

Meh. As an active duty soldier who is issued an M9 (in addition to an M4), here's my 2 cents. Choose whatever, it doesn't matter. Realistically all the choices these days are solid, it just comes down to caliber and personal preference. M&P, Sig, Glock, HK... I don't care! Then take that...

    Striker Control Device For Glocks

I would argue that there are situations where one can't (or won't, because of factors such as stress) give 100% of their attention to making sure their holster is clear while they are reholstering, and placing your thumb on the hammer while reholstering is a well known (and harmless) technique...

    Trigger Pull on an EDC?

Everyone has their own opinions and comfort level, but I don't really like to go below 5ish pounds on a carry trigger, and I think that between 4-6 pounds is more or less a generally agreed upon minimum weight for carry guns.

Best value handgun in $350 range?

Definitely the Ruger or the S&W from your list. They're good guns, even if the S&W doesn't have the nicest trigger. The Canik is an unknown and I wouldn't trust anything from DB... Jiminez? Nope. HiPoint? Maybe as a range toy.

    Who carries cocked-and-locked?

When I carry an SAO handgun I carry it C+L, I tend to carry my SAO handguns more than my DAO revolver or DA/SA HK.

Help Needed: Springfield EMP 9MM vs Colt Defender 9MM

Liked my EMP a lot, but ultimately sold it to finance other purchases. I also have a Colt New Agent in .45, it's similar to the Defender but without sights. And I've handled and fired a few Defenders (but none in 9mm). Both are great guns, but I'd say the EMP is the nicer gun with more...

Plastic fantastic -- polymer guns, a poll

HK P30. Amazing grip, well thought out controls, super reliable. The DA/SA trigger isn't the best out there but the rest of the gun makes up for it.

    Sig P238

Very soft shooting and accurate little .380. Just about the only "con" is that it's basically a mini-1911 in function, so she'll have to be comfortable with cocked and locked. I love mine. They make a slightly larger version in 9mm too, the P938.

Help young guys understand the 1911, three questions

The questions have been answered pretty well, so I'll just add what I prefer on my 1911s. A. GI, because it's simpler and I don't think the FLGR gives any significant benefit. B. Flat, because it feels better in my hand. C. Series 70 style, because I don't feel the additional firing pin...

    Are Glocks Ugly?

In a traditional sense, yes Glocks are ugly. Hard to say a Glock is pretty when it's standing next to 1911s, HiPowers, classic S&W or Colt revolvers, older Berettas, etc... But in a practical sense, it doesn't look that bad, it's just getting the job done. When manufacturers try to add a...

    New Beretta APX

My guess is Beretta wanted cheap, simple, and reliable in this new gun. That's very easy to achieve with a tilt locking barrel. While a rotating barrel system is a little more expensive and complex. Who knows, this may be a signal that Beretta is done being different and may not produce any...

    1911 reliability, a poll

I can't really say, so I voted E. I tend to bring a bunch of guns to the range when I go and rarely put more than 100-200 rounds through any one of them. Then they all get cleaned when I get home, so I don't know just how far I can push them before they start giving me trouble. I'm not...

    MARSOC approves the Glock 19

Can't pass up a chance to bash the 1911?

    MARSOC approves the Glock 19

I don't think you get it... Spec ops guys use a variety of weapons, they can because they're super high speed like that. The 1911 is still very much used by MARSOC, it has not been replaced. The Marine message that authorized the G19, also lists the M45A1 and M9/M9A1 as authorized sidearms...

    MARSOC approves the Glock 19

Why? They haven't stopped using their 1911s or adopted the Glock. They've merely authorized their high speed guys to use it officially.

    Replacement Handgun Magazines

No question, it's MecGar (off of your list), in fact they ARE the "factory" mag for a few handguns. ProMag shouldn't even be on the list, they're generally range use only mags at best. And I've used a TripleK holster or two... Didn't know they made mags. As for any other companies...

1911 EMP vs. SIG P938 vs. CZ P-01

I know the .45 Defender/New Agents are good guns, don't really know of anyone with a 9mm version so I'm not much help there.

1911 EMP vs. SIG P938 vs. CZ P-01

It has been hit on already in this thread, and I agree that between the EMP and the P938 it basically boils down to the EMP being a better shooter with a slightly bigger mag and the P938 being easier to conceal. The CZ is a different animal, I have no experience with that model specifically...
