Did you make this ramrod or cut one down?

No lies detected here. If you're in driving distance of this recruit skirmish, do it. It costs nothing but windshield time.

    Is TAPCO back?

I searched around and didn't see this topic, if already discussed, I apologize. I have been seeing ads on social media for TAPCO products. Is this company back in business? The TAPCO company I remember made cheap plastic stocks and parts for SKS's and 10/22s etc. This company has a fresh new...

What is the most recent knife you bought?

I carry a #6 quite often, its the carbon blade and has developed a nice patina. Did you get the walnut handle like the one pictured? I have a couple of olive ones but was curious how the walnut is in person.

How do you store your bullet/ball molds/moulds?

I have a wall of molds. Standard peg board with 2 inch hooks to hang. I oil all of the molds on the outside, leave a bullet in the cavity and wrap a hair tie around it to keep it closed. Takes up a bit of space, but there's no digging. If I had like 10 molds or less I would look at a tool box...

Charter Off Duty .32 H&R Mag

Check out this company. I inquired about fitment for a Charter and they sent me two to try to fit my Patriot. I believe the J2 worked, the R7 was too big. https://5starfirearms.com/speed-loading/327-caliber/

    Do you extrapolate???

When the 327 Fed. Mag cartridge first came out I wanted to use a 120 grain 32-20 lead bullet, no data. Not much data at all! So I used 100 grain XTP published loads, modified the load for the heavier bullet (and the fact that it was lead). If that's extrapolation, I've done it to that extent. I...

Taurus 327's Showing Up in Stores

The factory Federal American Eagle ammo I bought when these Taurus revolvers came out around 10 years ago had bad splitting problems. The 100 grain variant was worse than the 85 grain, the 100's felt like they were loaded hotter to me. I suspected the chambers on the Taurus were out of spec, but...

Like to hear your pucking advice!

The ones that are ceramic don't have actual blades. Look at "burr grinders".

    Gunsmith accolades!

I have to add something to this thread. Jackrabbit1957 has been a great help to me. Not only does he have a knack with the revolvers, he got an old smoothbore of mine going by just sending the lock. Literally a 200 year old Springfield that had been tampered with by an amateur... Then, I had...

    Smith Carbine $1400 ( WDYT?)

A Pietta reproduction right now (if you can find one) goes for this much. If the locking strap/lug fitment is good and the hinge isn't loose this seems like a good deal. I saw a Mass Arms smith at a show a couple months back going for a similar price in worse shape than this one, going by...

    Paper on the line again

@Pete453 That craft glue says its flammable and also waterproof! May be a good combination for what we're doing! And by my math your container is one quarter the price of the Duco.

    Paper on the line again

Nice shooting @armoredman I wish I could find some more of that Old E for sale these days. I found the same thing using end papers, just the rings where the base was glued left behind. I have thankfully never had a "smoldering bits in the chamber" incident. A couple years back I started using...

    Round balls on sale

I received my order of .457 Speers today, ordered Monday when I posted this. That's exceptionally fast shipping. Like a few of you I cast nearly everything I shoot. All of my ball molds are two cavity. Having a pile of these gives me time to do other stuff, or cast something that isn't so...

    Round balls on sale

MidwayUSA has Speer and Hornady round balls on sale right now. The Speers particularly are a decent deal. All of the common revolver ball sizes (451, 454, 457) are around 40% off regular price. Also .490's are almost half off. The Hornadys aren't as deeply discounted, looks like 20 to 25...

    Barrel liner info wanted

Hoyt is your guy for re-line. Another option is a full re-barrel, for that Whitacre Machine shop would be my recommendation.
