    Lee's Factory Crimp Die?

They don't have to license out their patent. They can maintain their exclusive right to produce and market that product.

    Lee's Factory Crimp Die?

"but not one company has come out with an equivalent of the fcd." Perhaps the patent has not expired yet.

Loading 223 with the components that I already have

Your initial reasoning has nearly come full circle with regards to price of components in my area at least. My loads are ~ $1-2.50 a box less than purchased new ammo.

66% of gun stores I visited say these optics helps are absolutely worthless....

It's so simple a caveman could do it......I have done it the Lo-Tech way for my bolt action rifles and it has worked perfectly well to get me on paper fairly close enough to center without having to expend excessive ammo fine tuning the setting. I have taken a large cardboard box and cut a V...

want to know how to make homemade scope bubble level

"The thing to worry about is your homemade level truly level." In a word, yes. My reloading bench is almost perfectly level throughout with the central portion actually being perfectly level. I laid a level (the type one uses in home building) on the bench and my homemade device on the level...

want to know how to make homemade scope bubble level

So far I liberated a level from an inexpensive line level. I cut a piece of dowel that fits closely inside a small medicine bottle, drilled a 3/8 inch hole as close to dead center as I could get it with my drill press and glued it inside the medicine bottle. I drilled a corresponding hole in...

want to know how to make homemade scope bubble level

"Scope levels are cheap." Yeah, but that's not the point. Never underestimate the amount of toil a skinflint will endure to save 50 cents. :) My scopes are mounted correctly. One I mounted in 1982 and the other in 1996 and they remain spot on. This is something I wanted to try to...

want to know how to make homemade scope bubble level

Somewhere I had come across an article of how a person used a small pill bottle, and a level vial that fit over a scope adjustment knob to help the user to avoid canting the scope when shooting. I did not have time to read the article and did not bookmark it. Does anyone have a lead on what I...

    Am I being realistic?

No mag dumps, too old for such tomfoolery and too poor!

    Am I being realistic?

I pulled my AR from the safe last night and shortened the stock a few clicks and tried to adopt a stance like Mr. Verity, checking my reflection in the car window and it felt as if I had better control. This was just positioning practice in my garage, no live fire. I otherwise had just always...

    Baldwin Charged Again With Manslaughter

Does anyone think the anti-gun stance of the NM governor will have any bearing on this case such as influencing the prosecutor's vigor in this case and seeking the maximum penalty if found guilty?

    Baldwin Charged Again With Manslaughter

" The actor must inspect the firearm prop immediately upon receipt, verify it's properly loaded with prop ammunition, and must not allow the firearm prop to leave his possession at any time before returning it to the armorer." ^^^^^ THAT. The last person handling the weapon is responsible for...

    Am I being realistic?

I am probably standing too upright and not pushing my "face on the charging handle" as suggested. I have never received instruction on AR shooting. I am used to hunting rifles and old bolt action milsurps. The next time I get out with the carbine I will try to be mindful of this advice...

    Am I being realistic?

OK, that makes me feel much better especially coming from a professional soldier! I know when shooting really counts one must use every advantage to get steady. In the hunting fields there are trees and such to use. I suppose in combat one tries to use buildings, a car or whatever is handy...

    Am I being realistic?

I have an AR in 556 and try as I might I cannot shoot (standing) with or without a sling, fire a round, immediately recover from recoil and maintain the weapon's sights on a full size human silhouette target and continue to fire maintaining the sights on the silhouette. The recoil always bounces...

Ongoing trouble with 30-30 sizing/decapping dies

I have used Lee lube and have found it to be an excellent lube. The only quality of it that I don't care for is that it is water soluble which if left in the die may lead to rusting so you should clean your dies thoroughly afterward if you use it. I have mostly Lee dies and I load for many...

Getting a beam scale at eye level

Guys, right away build some sort of fence around your scale platform because sooner or later you WILL knock that scale off all the way to the ground.....ask me how I know!

    Confused on Front Sight Height

You need to move the rear sight in the direction you want the impact on target to be or move the front sight the opposite of where you want the impact to be. I have been shooting open sighted milsurps for ~25 years and burned that one in my brain long ago.
