These are some groups I shot this morning with my Anschutz 1712. 50 yards very casually shot off the hood of my Jeep with a few bags. Mid grade ammo- SK Standard Plus, about a 5 mph variable wind. Groups measured . 345" to include the fouling group:
I'll assume you are speaking of factory sporter rifles. I own what I consider to be a pretty accurate collection of .22 sporters - an Anschutz 1712 (54 action), 2 Sako Quads (one with a Lilja barrel) and 4 CZ 452s.
I'll put it to you this way - all of them are capable of accuracy somewhere...
I had the Weatherby Mark XXII, and it could not hold a candle to my $399 CZ Trainer in the accuracy department. I liked the Trainer so much I sold the Weatherby and purchased another one:
I need to remove creep and lighten the CZ 452 trigger on my new Ultralux 22lr. I know there are numerous options but am looking for opinions.
The way I see it, there is the:
YoDave kit (or similar kit with tubes and springs);
the homemade job with a shim glued onto the sear and a...
As others have noted, Tenex is usually about the most expensive .22 ammo there is. Should be way more expensive than anything CCI makes. A few times a year I'll splurge and get a few boxes to see what my .22 target rifles can really do on a dead calm day, any wind and I'd probably be wasting my...
Does this rifle have a varmit type barrel or a lighter, sporter type barrel. I understand its a heavier barrel for offhand shooting, but don't have one to handle. Feel free to tell me anything else about this rifle, as I hear its the one to beat in sporters.

I always take vacation during the opening week of squirrel season, which happens to start tomorrow. I'll hunt about every day during the next week,weather permitting. I then hunt ever weekend until Thanksgiving, which is around the time the rut starts. I don't hunt the rut because this is...
Like everything else in life "it depends."
My favorite hunting scope is the Vortex Diamondback with the mil dot reticle and AO. It is super clear, has a large field of view, weighs less that 15 ozs and focuses down to 10 yards. I can also utilize the dots on short and long range shots. The...
I would go with the 452. Better hurry though as the supply has all but dwindled.
The 452 has the threaded barrel, while the 455 has a pinned barrel and offers the advantage of switching calibers with only one rifle. If you desire a switch barrel rifle, I would suggest the Sako Quad.
The...
I sent a .22Lr barrel to Hooper Ordnance to be cut and rethreaded back in mid December of last year. I have been unabe to contact him as the phone number listed is no longer valid and he will not respond to my e-mails. Anyone know what is up with this operation?
