These are some groups I shot this morning with my Anschutz 1712. 50 yards very casually shot off the hood of my Jeep with a few bags. Mid grade ammo- SK Standard Plus, about a 5 mph variable wind. Groups measured . 345" to include the fouling group:

I believe if you search long enough the CZ 452 Trainer is still available for under $400. Otherwise, I'd look for a used CZ or Sako Quad.

I would get a CZ 452 Trainer. Great open sights, can be scoped, super accurate, and within your budget.

I would go with the 452. Better hurry though as the supply has all but dwindled. The 452 has the threaded barrel, while the 455 has a pinned barrel and offers the advantage of switching calibers with only one rifle. If you desire a switch barrel rifle, I would suggest the Sako Quad. The...
