wondering if anybody here has any experience building or using a muffler/suppressor with 55 gal drums for use at the bench. I have seen pictures where two drums were welded end to end and then lined with old tires then lined up with the target area ahead of the bench. The muzzle of the gun is...
In response to your crimp question, get a Lee factory crimp die.
I load 25gr of H335 under a hornady 55gr sp. shoots very well and handles all of my 223 needs just fine
Yeah, I had to stick my nose in the jug too. I was just wondering if this was the normal smell. The powder shows no sign of breaking down, it looks good, no color changes etc.
I have a fairly new jug of silhouette and it smells like vinegar. I have had this for several months and just opened it. Anybody out there with experience with this powder? Thanks in advance
I found this method by accident after my last range trip. I picked up some 45 acp brass that was laying under my bench, can't just leave it there. Got home and tossed my shorts in the laundry basket. My old yellow handle case needs a lot of attention to restore it to its previous condition but...
Good so far
Have been running it in a 1911 and one AR as a test. About 500 rounds thru each. It makes clean up after a range session the easiest I have ever seen. AR bolt comes clean as a whistle. Like I said in the header, good so far. Don't have to wear gloves and it smells good but I miss...
Trying to seat v max bullets in 223 using RCBS die. Would split the ballistic tip down the middle. Spent way to much time trying to make this work. Solution was a set of Hornady self aligning dies. Perfection!
By far the best investment was a "Little Crow" case trimmer, set it and you get perfect brass length every time and fast. Next best was hornady dyes with the sliding bullet holder, seats ballistic tipped bullets properly every time and no damaged tips.
Worst was a sonic cleaner with a...
I shoot a DPMS LR308B and it loves 168 amax over 42 grains IMR 4895. Most accurate load I have ever found in any rifle. But my rifle does not like 150 grain projectiles have not found a load with any powder that groups less than 1-1/2 inch at a hundred yards.
I would anneal these cases and try again. I had bullet tension problems a couple of years ago. A propane torch and a pan of water and no more problems. Do not over heat.
