the gun has been refinished...if it says CYL choke on the barrel it was most likely a WW2 riot gun to start....then sold as surplus after the war, refinished and cutts attached to make it more versatile....In fact I think there was a company specializing in redoing surplus guns... ..should make...
you have to push the slide release and push forward on the forend and it will release.....all 12ga model 12s were at least 2 3/4in from the start of production ....the 16ga and 20ga were short chambered until around 27 or so......and most of the time you have to alter the ejection port along...
I have a WW2 made 16gaWinchester model 12 riot gun....Keep a couple boxes of #1 buck handy in case I need it but it is more of a collector gun.....my other riot guns are 12ga.....
just flush it out and let it dry then give it a touch of lube....if you want, remove the stock first then you don't have to worry about the finish,.....

that's pretty much normal....you can have a good doublegun gunsmith work on it and he might improve it some but not worth the bother and money......
99.9% of the time the front trigger fires the right barrel.....hunter arms did not mark the chokes on the guns....you will have to measure...
first off if I remember correctly I think the gun should be cocked with the safety on....remove trigger guard screw...pull up slightly on rear of guard and unscrew the guard about 1/4 to 1/2 turn.....under the trigger guard there is another screw that needs to be removed .....think you have to...
I wouldn't.....
if you wanted one with a pad you could of found one for probably a lot less than you paid for yours.....then a pad will cost you around 50 and at least another 75 to have it fitted....so you will be sticking around 125 onto the price you already paid for yours.....and it will...
