Mainly just for range shooting, my budget is no more than $200 for the optic and rings. As for the mount, I'm pretty much set on the Midwest Industries railed mount.

A lot of it is that most of my rifle shooting was with scopes, at longer ranges anyway and I can hit what I aim at more often than not. Most of the shooting I've done with irons however was at 30yds or less. I could just need more range time and a better rest to get more used to irons.

I am very nearsighted, which I do have prescription glasses for, and my depth perception is not all that good, idk how much that actually factors in though.
