Buy something from Lewis Machine & Tool (LMT), Bravo Company (BCM), or Colt. As long as they are properly maintained and built with quality parts they will run.
Sorry for the water and mud, but those are the most recent pictures of my rifle from a 3-gun match.
I have been shooting this rifle in one configuration or another for about two years and I have only had one malfunction and it was caused by a popped primer from reloads.
I think you are on the right track so far. You recognized the superior ergonomics of the AR, and you selected a high quality example (Colt 6920 is what you meant in the original post, right?).
I did A LOT of research and reading and bought parts to assemble my rifle over two years and have...
Spend a day using a "Supersnipe" optic and then spend a day with a high end optic like something from S&B or USO. Then you will understand why the above quoted statement is false.
I was not aware that FN sold ARs to the public, or that they made ARs in .308. If that is indeed what it is then I would not hesitate to buy it. All of the M16A2s and M16A4s are made by either Colt or FN.
Hey, I didn't mean to come off as being negative. (Note the smiley face.) They all look like quality grips and you obviously are pretty talented.
I also noticed you are from Diamondhead. I live on the coast also, where do you go to shoot?
taliv, I was actually looking at the ATS low profile chest rig but the Eagle M4 LE was $40 cheaper and I don't need the GP pouches. I wish ATS would do a run of the low profile rig WITHOUT the GP pouches, that could bring the cost down to within the realm of the Eagle rig and I would have...
Nice. Are those pouches all sewn in? Is the flap the only method of mag retention? What is your primary use for the chest rig (other than hiding your "fat gut" :p)? You run it for 3 gun or at any classes? Pros/Cons?
Bill,
HSGI definitely makes some nice stuff, I hear nothing but good about their gear. Their chest rigs look like a good option for exactly what you described - going out looking for a fight in the sand box. Right now I am just doing 3-gun and want to keep my waistline clear for my pistol...
I am going to a 3 gun match at the end of the month and wanted something that would let me carry a few mags on my person without having to stuff them in my pockets. I did a little research and found the best compromise between price and function (I was going for something as low-profile as...
Possum,
Did you originally have a GG&G MAD BUIS? What made you change to the MaTech?
Chris,
Nice Saiga conversion. Did you do it yourself?
Walkalong,
What optic is that? One of the AimPoint commercial models?
I'm interested to see everyone's before and after gun photos. Maybe you bought a weapon and added a few things or swapped a few things around, lets see it.
I'll go first
