    .36 caliber Navy Model Accuracy

Sorry, but this was an actual question, not a statement, although I see where you see that. I am clueless and have never shot competition, to me its the practice and always trying to get 5 into 1 hole.

    .36 caliber Navy Model Accuracy

1" groups at 10 yards and 2.5 at 25 yards isnt exactly 'Nationals' standard (is it??)

    .36 caliber Navy Model Accuracy

That is my best 'to date' target on that revolver. The two lower shots I knew were bad due to click-fsst-boom which I put down to not cleaning those two chambers perfectly. Plus that target was 10yards, which is a lot different from 25!!! Your 25 aint too shabby either. Note, I only have one...

    .36 caliber Navy Model Accuracy

This target shows three shots are normal pressure, and then two at slightly lower. If these had been all the same 'load' then I would have expected all 5 to hit the same place.

    .36 caliber Navy Model Accuracy

aha... after re-reading your original thread, i think i may have found your problem Black Powder is measured by VOLUME not by weight. Whilst weighing may look like its giving your consistent loads for each chamber, its actually not an accurate measurement for black powder. Each 'granule' of...

    .36 caliber Navy Model Accuracy

Just a thought, but, what size balls are you using? and whats the make of the revolver? Can you measure the bore and chambers?

    .36 caliber Navy Model Accuracy

Black powder 'target pistols' are a very different set of creatures from our black powder revolvers and dont even bear comparison here. I use an ASM 1851-36, done quite a lot of shooting and worked out a nice load 'for me'. 12 to 15 grains of 777 and the same amount of 'filler' (i used Cream...

1851 Round barrel, iron frame, rolled cylinder - ITS A COLT!

Yup its a lighting effect. Thanks B for the better picture. " A history of the Colt revolver " by Haven and Belden is a GREAT BOOK... but, whilst some are referred to a 'coffee table books' this one is actually the coffee table!! My version is 711 pages! There are others that go up to 750 pages!!

    Crowned and Dished muzzle?

Just picked up an 1851 Italian clone, [AF] PR on butt, "1851 Old Model, .36 Caliber Revolver", Brass Frame, etc... I believe its an FIE The most peculiar things are that 1- This has progressive rifling (starting at the Forcing Cone, the rifling is shallow and almost straight, the rifling...

1851 Round barrel, iron frame, rolled cylinder - ITS A COLT!

Yup Colt actually made an Old Model (1851) with a round 'dragoon style' barrel, etched cylinder and iron backstrap. That means one of my 'sergio and leones' just became an 'unintentional copy' of one of the rarest Colts of all!!

    Stainless ROA

rare as they were only made for a few years in comparison to the other options. Sought after, most definitely, as there are a lot of SASS shooters who drool over them and some almost appear to be in the mood to mug a 5.5" FS owner. Been looking at them on the online auctions. Seems that...

    Belgiam made Colt replica

ahhhh CRAP! Now that means that I have another collectible that I walked away from. This was on the table directly opposite the entry door. $395 I looked, walked around the hall, returned and looked again, walked around the next hall, came back, looked again, then walked out the door...
