Can 7.7 Jap. dies resize .303 Brit. brass?

Have been shooting the Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk. 1 lately and piling up brass... need to order a set of .303 British dies. But I already have 7.7 Japanese dies on hand for the Arisaka 99... if the only difference between the two rounds ('tis said) is the rim, could the 7.7 Arisaka dies resize my...

Garand's rear sight maxxed right, cause?

My newly refinished Garand is a beauty, SA Nov. 1943-made. It came with a couple small problems- the recoil spring was rusty, despite the wonderful park job and new wood. The recoil spring broke, first time at the range. A new "extra power" Garand spring from Wolff is in there now. Not worth...

    Czech "short-range" 7.62x54r ammo

Anybody shot this recently? Not too much info out there on it. http://www.7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinAmmo013.htm Hollow-core (plastic core), 7.62x54r, gets over 3,000 fps, light recoil. Accurate enough; falls away dramatically at longer distances (which my range doesn't have). Seems like 90%+...

Fails NO-GO, passes Field: Would you shoot it?

In this case, a Russian-capture K98 Mauser. Typical (nicer than usual) Russian mixmaster with electropencil match on bolt. Swallows the NO-GO headspace gauge, won't close on the Field. Some say it's perfectly safe to shoot with factory ammo. Some say do not fire. What do you think?

Cast metal parts in Russian-capture K98's?

Got a J.P. Sauer & Sohn K98 Russian-capture last night. UPS crunched the box, big time: even a hole on the side from the bolt. :( Not happy to see that. Most times C&R dealers remove the bolt and pack it seperately for this reason. Unwrapping it I found the bolt safety wing broken off! and...

    POSP quality aggravations

Just got a good sighting match for my GP-WASR 10, the POSP 4x24 scope it should have. It came from one of the major sources (not flaming anyone). Disappointment No. 1- No English manual. I quickly found a PDF on the internet, but a xerox in English wouldn't have hurt. :confused...

$69 AIM K31 "stock blem" arrives

Not bad. At all. Walnut, to my surprise. Expecting a severely beaver-chewed beech. Has a forend splice, M39-style. With sharp fingers, but perfectly done. Bluing on the gun is shot, reciever is in the white! (This was meant to be a "project" gun. I have several- perfect- K31's that...

Underfolder AK stock on GP-WASR 10?

The package from Centerfire Systems arrived. They say the salvaged underfolder stocks fit "any stamped reciever", but it isn't going to fit my Romanian GP-WASR 10 without surgery, it seems. I thought all I'd have to do is replace the (included) trunnion, but no... Don't see a way...

    WASR-10 magwell hell_o

It's one of the ones currently flooding the market. Nice piece, no sight cant. But the mags- the 2 30 rndrs. it came with fit perfect. A little tight, compared to an American rifle in the same class. A Chinese 5 rndr. fits perfect. A 30 rndr. of unknown Euro make won't fit. A...

    Moss. 500A binding problem

Intermittenly, as a shell is picked up off the carrier, and the bolt pushes forward, this million-seller pump shotgun just locks up, frozen. Of course I field stripped and found... no problem. Reassembled, it still does it. Cycle 5 shells, it's fine. 2 more, it's stuck on closing. Absolute...

Flood damaged Beretta 950 BS- how risky?

A neighbor whose house was wiped off its foundation (hurricane Ivan) salvaged 2 pistols from his scattered belongings. He's not a gun guy, they were given to him. One was a Colt 1903 .32 hammerless- was in a zipped gun case, soaked in salt water for days. Though heavily pitted, when I took it...
