What type of handgun do you carry most?

I carry only in the outdoors and almost always a revolver. I find the S&W M15/M67 about ideal but occasionally carry a Taurus M460 45 Colt or if I'm feeling really lazy a S&W M60 or M642.

.38 special snubnose plinkers club meets here

I shoot SA if the gun allows this mode of fire. Tin cans, metal plates, and balloons are the preferred targets but sometimes dirt clods and tree stumps are all that’s available. Most of my guns are stocked with rubber or smooth wood grips with no sharp edges or checkering. I like to alternate...

    Favorite Handgun caliber

I pick the 44 Special followed closely by the 45 Colt.

    Favorite Snubby Choice

While my favorite pocket snubby is a 642, I think a visible hammer just looks better. The standard snubby has classic lines reminiscent of old TV detectives and such.

    What is your walking gun?

Usually a S&W M642 or a Charter Arms Bulldog but sometimes a medium or large frame revolver in a shoulder holster.

    CDNN experiences?

I’ve had only good experiences with CDNN. They seem genuinely concerned with your satisfaction. Ask for Brian.

    Handgun Grips

I prefer them on revolvers but dislike them on autos.

How many of you regularly carry a pistol?

Only while in the woods or on the farm. Usually a large revolver in a shoulder holster. Occasionally a small revolver in the front jeans or coat pocket.

    Pocket Carry Gun-recommendations needed

I have several pocket pistols and revolvers but the M642 is my favorite. It's lightweight, simple, reliable, and adequately powerful. It's the best for me.

    One auto and one revolver?

    If limited to only 2, I would pick a 1911(45 ACP) paired with a S&W M29/629.

WHY do you like what you like?

1911's and Hi-Powers - Basic, without all the customization. These are classic yet functional. No-nonsense get the job done appeal. S&W revolvers(any frame) - Classic; blued finish and wood. Warm, smooth and reliable. Makarov - Simple, rugged and reliable. Nostalgic "cold war spy movie"...

I love my Thunder 380. It's light, accurate, and reliable. One of the best values out there IMHO.

    whats your favorite caliber

My real deep down favorite is the 44 Special but I don't have much practical use for it so I shoot my second favorite, the 38 Special. My third favorite would be the 45 Colt. If I could only have one caliber it would be the 357 Mag because it's just so practical.

    Shootability of an airweight/lightweight snubby?

For me the M642 is the most practical pocket revolver available. Mine has a wonderful DA trigger and I have no trouble hitting my target with consistency. Recoil is bit heavy compared to an all steel model but it's a jewel to carry.

How does everyone here feel about their Kel-Tec pistols?

When I first saw the Kel-Tecs I thought they were just cheap junk and I would never want one, but when the P-32s came out I just had to have one. I didn't really care if it was reliable or not. It was just the idea of a real firing gun that small and light. More of a novelty really. Well...

If you could have just one .44 mag....

I'd go with a 4" 629. It's just handy and yet powerful. Smooth and strong. The MG configuration is tempting though.

    Charter arms snubbies any good?

I always thought they were neat. Little gun shooting a big bullet.
