    Leather Holster Binge

Be careful with cheap holsters. Many don’t use vegetable tanned leather. The leather can rapidly (as in within hours) attack the finish.

    California Vehicle Transportation/Carry

A carry permit makes life easier. But so far California doesn’t recognize other states permits. I wonder why they accept other states drivers licenses.

duty size gun carry for ccw

I carry both 1911's and N framed S&W's concealed. Mostly it's technique and competency that determines if you can or can't.

    Burro Defense Gun

Well, one of the design considerations for the .45 colt was the ability to put down a cavalry horse.

    Gloves for dry fire training

Apparently someone took exception to my comment about folks with soft hands. So let me put it this way. If shooting creates pain, blisters or your hands aren't currently up to the task. You can toughen the skin, you can strengthen your hands, and you can work up to using a handgun slowly and...

    Reasons for keeping "safe queens"?

My father brought back two handguns. A pristine P-08 and a late war production P-38. He never fired the P-08, preferring to keep it as is. The P-38 he used. I use the P-38. My kids have used it. the P-08 will go to my eldest, the P-38 to his younger brother. What they do with them is up...

Self defense options for carry on flying in the USA

I use a cane for balance issues. I use a solid aluminum cane that has a screw off handle. Never had TSA even look twice at it. Of course they are likely fearful they will be hit with an ADA suit if they give me any grief.

    Holster recommendation?

Contact Simply Rugged, they list three models, Cattleman, Silver Dollar and Pocket Pro. If you don't find the exact model of King Cobra in the drop down menus, give them a call. It's pretty hard to have every handgun configuration listed online.

According to the Constitution of the United States they should. You know, that part in their oath where they swear to abide support...

Do You Change Your Every Day Carry When Going On Lengthy Out of State Road Trips?

Heck, I changed what I carry frequently so an out of state trip is no big deal. Last time I flew it was as for work. I was staying at a hotel in Dallas/Ft. Worth. Because it was work I couldn’t carry at work. Not liking leaving my gun in either the rental car or hotel, and the chance of theft...

Do Thermal and Night Optics Have a Role in Home Defense?

If it were useless the US military wouldn’t be using it. Anything that gives you a better view of a situation is advantageous. Learning to use it is the key. When lasers became affordable I bought one a put it on an airgun. I put hundreds, maybe thousands of rounds through it learning how to...

Packing for a Pig Hunt: How many guns??

I've never taken more that two firearms. As of late it's been a Marlin 1895 GS and a .45 colt Blackhawk. Heck, that's enough weight to lug around.
