Some of those budget guns are more reliable than the primo stuff. Watch the classifieds for a used J Frame and you'll have a first class carry piece for $ 300.00. Spend a little over $ 200.00 and you have a new Keltec if you shop correctly. Both are great.
I think they are the best looking of all the small handguns ... except maybe for some 1911's which dress-up pretty well. I see a PPK and am instantly charmed by the sleekness of the lines and the elegance of the design.
Never shot one never owned one but when I see a picture it always gets...
Indeed they are. First time I've bought them but having fired a few and inspecting the results I'll be picking some up in .40 and .45. The shape is especially nice since they feed so well.
The dog on the grips? Part of the reason why I bought this gun was the hope that my wife would take a shine to it, and would be more interested in shooting. I certainly didn't want to buy a gun for her as that would be stoopid, but these days when I buy a gun I'm always thinking of who else...
Earlier this year I picked up a Bersa Thunder CC. The gun took FOUR MONTHS to arrive from the time of my order but was well worth the wait. During that time I ordered custom engraved grips from Dennis Marschal, and a UBG Bonneville holster.
At the range, It fired 100 rounds of Magtech FMJ...
Left handed ... check the shelves for a Galco. Worse comes to worse just contact some of the custom guys and they'll hook you up.

My .02 FWIW ... No such thing as 'best' but there will be something called 'works for me' which depends on how I like to dress, the shape of my body, lifestyle ...
If you are of reasonably normal weight just go to UBG or K&D or any of a myriad of custom holster makers and they can whip up a...
Minnesota has an 11. It just goes to show that we have a lot more work to do. I've very disappointed that we only scored one point lower than WI.
An activist judiciary must be part of the formula. California scored #1 even though their laws seem no more draconian than NJ, CA is the state...
Hey Tortuga I used to live in Wauchula so believe me I know all about Crackers. That word was coined to describe the the people there. They have their "Cracker Heritage Festival" and the county highway is the "Cracker Trail".
IMHO the Glock 23 is just about the ideal choice for carry. But, Glocks are not for everyone. Try a 1911 or a Kahr ... they are thinner and easier to conceal. Whether you will shoot them better nobody can predict.
.380 is what people carry because they can't conceal their twelve guage shotgun. The .380 is a compromise, giving up some power in order to gain a pistol that small enough to carry discreetly. Yeah yeah buckets and Makarovs and gelatin but at the end of the day it's still less powerful than...
