    Quiet guns, sans suppressors?

It's pretty darned hard here in Minnesota, considering that the first step involves packing up and moving to a different state.

so you shot a dog.. now what?

That is entirely possible. Let me look at that one... Umm, no. It looks like I quoted what I meant to quote. Apparently though, I didn't actually read what it said. I respectfully submit that my post #78 was a total crock and can't stand on its own two legs. My brain must have been out of town...

so you shot a dog.. now what?

How's that again? My original post, in which I justify why I think it's okay to defend yourself against a dog that attacks you, is post #27, which I posted at 9:15pm Feb. 22nd, as a response to ArmedBear's post #5 . ArmedBear's post, in which he talks about a dog that just happens by, is...

so you shot a dog.. now what?

This is fairly ugly quoting, but hopefully it's understandable enough. Okay, Joab. I'll try this one. Please excuse my sloppiness. I went off on a tangent with ArmedBear, but kept the assumption of the original post, which was that you were being attacked. (Oops. My assumption is that there...

so you shot a dog.. now what?

Armed Bear says: Well, that all depends. I'm assuming that because you list your location as San Diego that you would fall under the San Diego county code. If I'm wrong, I apologize. Let's look at the laws... Section 62.669 RESTRAINT OF DOGS REQUIRED "Any person owning or having custody...

so you shot a dog.. now what?

ArmedBear; you may know animals, but do you know the laws where you live? I know they're different all over the place, but in the township that I live in you are legally required to keep your animal under control, and on a leash if it's off your property. So if your dog were to get shot...

Where to shoot (and live) near Minneapolis?

Trying not to get too far off the original topic, but... The last time I talked to the owners of Metro, they were still very vocal and against being taken over by the stadium. As a member, it's pretty cheap to shoot there. I bought a 25 round punch card that let's me shoot for around...

Just finished this little black beauty...(knife porn)

Dayy-uhm. Make a sheath to match the handle, and by the way; how much do you want for it?

    Home Invasion Shooting

I have no idea what the mugshot/channel 4 issue is, but it looks like Richard Munoz is a bad guy who picked the wrong house to break into, if this report is right: http://www.bcstandard.com/news/2006/0105/Front_Page/001.html "Thrift grabbed a 357 revolver and .22 caliber pistol and began...

    cleaning your shotgun cleaning tools

3 tools I use a grand total of three tools on my shotgun. First, I run a boresnake down the barrels. (The Boresnake is my #1 favorite cleaning tool of all time. This is one product that's *better* than advertised.) Second, I'll clean up the nooks and crevices in the action with a...

    1911...mumble...thinking about...mumble...getting one

A bit out of your price range, but Para makes a 9mm 1911... I even saw one on for sale on the board here not too long back.

    Why O/U?

Besides all the other good reasons people have mentioned: you can carry it broken open over your shoulder and a) take weight off your hands when carrying, or even free them up to carry something else, and b) everyone within 100 yards of you *knows* that your gun isn't loaded.

    .22lr rifle red dot sights

If you really want a cheap red dot, go to Walmart and buy about 4 of them. Then take them home and check them all out and see which one has the least parallax and the roundest dot. Take the others back. Or, if you want a really nice product that will last forever, or close to it; go buy...

    O/U Extractors vs ejectors

Where I shoot, they are happy to have you drop your hulls. They police them all at the end of the day, then sort them and sell them to reloaders.

Help me build a Target Stand

Cobb's stand Cobb sent me the pdf of his stand, and I've put it up on my site so you can grab it if you're interested: http://www.gigservices.com/bullseye/target%20stand%20PVC%20plans.pdf I like it. It looks cheap and easy to build, and easy to change the target whenever you need to...

    O/U Extractors vs ejectors

As long as we're on the subject... My Browning Citori has ejectors. Since I don't (currently) reload, I just let the hulls fall where they may. Not a problem. But I'm about ready, I think, to move beyond the $3/box cheap shells and into something better. Which should shortly lead me into...

    Ammo questions for Trap

For $5, Wal-Mart has a single box shell-holder that clips onto your belt. I believe it's a Bob Allen brand, but I couldn't swear to it. And you get your choice of colors, as long as you like dark green. I highly recommend it. I have a shooting vest, a belt/bag that holds two boxes worth...

    Sig-Hammerli Quality

I love mine. I have the competition model, with the good sights, barrel weight, and the blue plastic ergonomic target grips. I also have (well my wife has and I shoot) a Browning Buckmark. The difference? The Buckmark is less finicky about cleaning, the Trailside is slightly more...
