    Should I start drinking?

That was a learning lesson and thank you for all the replies. I only make one size for each caliber, I haven't changed weights or recipes in 20yrs. He thought I would know, and that's why I asked. Unfortunately he buys ammo, but I might go a little heavier in the pistol myself now. A new...

    Should I start drinking?

I've got an interesting question, it falls into the don't answer the phone when your buddy has been out drinking. So anyway, I figured I'd ask some people with more experience than myself. My friend has a Ruger PC9 and a Kimber 9mm. It seems he's been buying 124gr. for the Kimber and 115gr. for...

Who Headspaces A Milsurp Before Shooting?

headspacing? of course. not checking is pretty silly considering the possible results.

How many rounds minimum are borderline sufficient in your semi auto pistol?

rounds? ok, so I started counting. 2 mags on me, one rd. in the pipe, and 30 rds in the mags. So that's 31. (P95) It takes me about 3 sec to swap mags.

You can't park this in NewYork or Chicago.

yeah, drag pipes are a no-no in NY. LOL

Talk me out of a Krag

Krag I agree, they'll never give you what it's worth. I lucked out and found an old Mdl.1899 Krag carbine, and I bought it to a local gunsmith, and was told its been cut down, and he offered me $75 for it. I decided not to sell it, and after several thousand rounds, it's still one of my best...

    Ponsness / warren du-o-matic 375- 12 gauge shotshell reloader

thanks rcmodel and TonyT, lets see if this guy takes my bid of $200, it's only a 12guage press (not that I need the 20ga) but since it's older and well used, we'll see...thanks again.

    Ponsness / warren du-o-matic 375- 12 gauge shotshell reloader

Has anybody ever used one of these and what's the general opinion? seems kind of ancient, but should work, it's here at an estate sale, lots of extras, and the price seems reasonable.

    .223 Case OAL

^ agreed +1 cbmax Maybe I'm a little neurotic with my reloading; but after seeing a few squeezed rounds from a friend (no connalure and no crimp at all :what: ), that he made for his AR, I only use connalured bullets and crimp for myself for my semi-autos.

Anybody have a Krag and a set of calipers?

Krag .30-40 Took out my Krag: from the center pin to the top of the blade is 0.350". I don't know if that's going to help you, it's a model 1899 carbine.

.22LR shotshell in my Ruger 10-.22

thanks ok, ..you're right it doesn't cycle, and the pattern still sucks. :barf: Maybe I'll find a ..410 around here, this isn't NY anymore. :D

.22LR shotshell in my Ruger 10-.22

this is a little odd, but we have a small farm ; with a few Walnut trees. I've been shooting the little vagrant thieves (squirrels) with an old Remington, but I think the sights are off (alot). Normally, I use this rifle to dispatch "rat poisoned" rodents in the yard, pretty much head shots...

    Guns you keep for life

I've only traded one rifle, and I still regret it :( :banghead: It was an 1879 (?) Winchester .22LR single shot lever action. I'll never do that again, all my firearms are keepers to me, and after I'm gone, my friends already know who gets what... just like my bikes.

Has your gun ever been ridiculed? let's hear it

I once overheard some guy knocking my Colt HBAR AR15, he was telling his friend "it's a girly-gun". He was shooting some serious scoped hunting rifle (really big booms!!). After that comment, and a few others aimed at other people's rifles, I realized that his rifle must be the best ever...

What is the first gun you ever puchase or received

first firearm? Springfield model 1899 carbine. A great old rifle, still have it (and probably every .30-40 Krag case I ever fired through it) I still remember the old-timer at the bench next to me at the range telling me, 'boy save your brass, there'll come a time when those rounds will be...

Do you come from a non-gun family?

Parents were "anti", and freaked out when they found 3 rifles in my closet. Dad said he had enough shooting in WWII. Over the years, they became more tolerant.

love this site howdy :) I figured I should say something since I've been reading here about 2 weeks now. I'm a former NYer now living on a small farm in OR. I finally had enough of NY's anti-gun attitude, and moved someplace that wasn't looking to outlaw my 'evil' 10-.22 for...
