Picked this one up new @ the LGS just after Christmas, I decided on the Extreme, it came w a holster and a second 7 round mag along with the flush mount 6 round for carry. I have already put 200 to 300 rounds through it. I have not had any problems or even one jam, and I was impressed with how...
I have three old model Ruger Blackhawks, 357, 41 and 44 all un-converted, I love the trigger pull and action of them, I would be afraid the transfer system would add a higher trigger pull and change the feel of them. I am very careful when shooting them and would never carry one with 6 in the...
Sounds like a good deal to me, what options does it have, barrel length, sights, trigger job ect.... I don't have one yet but I know I will, really like the 97 for the lighter calibers
That is a tough one, like others here I have sold guns and regretted it and some I was happy I did. I don't feel that just because I purchased something I need to keep it for life. Change is how you find out what you truly enjoy in this world.....
I agree with ngnrd...... that is some great shooting, I am also shooting open sights and have not taken the 460 to the distance. Thinking more off hand hunting out to 100 yards or so. Glad to see you enjoying your smith as much as you are, I really like mine.
Sad to say but I have to join the club, was shooting 3 or 4 handguns in different calibers and slid a 41 mag in my 44 mag 629. I stopped after one shot and have kept the far apart since.
I have had good luck with the 180 grain JHP Montana Gold bullets in my Colt Delta Elite. I am loading them over 12.0 grains of AAC-7 for a little over 1200fps. They seem to group pretty well and are not to stout to shoot.
Great feedback on your hunt, I have been using your combo of bullet and powder for a couple of years now and it is working for me. I love the XTP bullets, as far as using the Lee Factory crimp die for the 45/454 to crimp the 460 it may not be deep enough for a full length re-sizing but I get a...
Thanks
Thanks for your reply guys, it gives me some things to look at. I have already changed to WSPM primers and increased the load to 11.0 grains, so far I have not seen and damaged primers but have only shot 30 or 40 of them. Thanks for the tip on the main spring and hammer, as I said, I...
Hope someone has some ideas, I recently picked up a new Ruger Blackhawk in 327 Fed Mag. it is stainless and has a 5 1/2" barrel. After shooting it several times I noticed some of the primers were pierced and had powder residue on the primer around the firing pin indent. I am shooting a XTP 100...
One thing to remember
I noticed that nothing had been said about the Python grips. I picked up a used 6" blue Python about a year ago and noticed it had aftermarket grips. I thought to myself well I will pick up a set off of eBay or gun-broker.....was I surprised, a good set of grips was going...
44 is a great caliber....One of many
I really enjoy shooting the 44 mag @ the range, I also take my 41 , 10mm, 357 and 327 mags. I do not believe one size fits all but I do like the magnum line up, you can take them to the max for hunting or protection or you can throttle them down for an...
My GP100 is a 4" in 327 Federal Mag. my wife bought me a couple of years ago, I had no idea how much I was going to enjoy it, both the gun and the caliber. I see that the offering on the 327 is dwindling, I hope it stays around I love shooting it.
Now for the 41 Mag
I picked up a Ruger 3 screw 41 mag with a 6.5" barrel about a year ago and all I can say is don't wait. It shoots like I have had it all my life. I am new to the 3 screw Ruger and have a 357 and 44 to keep the 41 from getting lonely. Hands down the 41 is my all time favorite...
Count me in
Glad to see some good posts on the 41 mag, I can't seem to get enough of them. Very happy with the 210 jhp over 19.0 grains of H110, has been my go to load for many years. Have to show off the boys......latest addition is a very clean Ruger 3 screw from 1969, Greg
I have to chime in supporting the 41 Mag, I have 2 and at least one of them go to the range every time I go. If you have never shot one you are missing out..........
