I was back browseing my old posts. This one did not get the level of interest I was hoping for. Think we could do better now?

    I had a non-intentional discharge today

I never did get over my ND. It ruined shooting for me. I used to shoot three or four times a week. After that I have been to the range maybe 5 times in two years. Its just not fun any more. I hope this does not happen to you. Do a seach for my story here on THR. Mine was worse than...

    Busse SAR5 Mod (pic)

Scales come off in about 1 min. Just drill the tubes until the flairs spin off. Pry the scales loose and worry the tubes out of the handle. Easy as pie. Grinding off all that INFI by hand on the other hand was AWFUL.

    Busse SAR5 Mod (pic)

Full height convex spine to edge by hand on stones  Sharpened and convexed swedge. Smoothed and slimmed handles. Added a Mineral oil saturated thin card stock spacer under handles to provide better bond and a moisture proof seal. Stainless removable screws and barrel connectors...

Kitchen CutleryWhat do you use, what would you use if you could?

Very frugal Dravur! On the other end of the spectrum I just took a 300 dollar Busse Skinny Anniversary Steel heart knife and reshaped the blade and handle by hand to make a kitchen knife. I think I spent more on sandpaper than you have on your Cutco's. LOL!!

Just some random Knifeage ( BIG PICS)

Sorry to say I got mad at HI and the HI forum and sold all my Khuks while I was having my little fit. Took a bath on them. Less resale value than spoiled milk.... :uhoh: But in search of the big chopper I found Busse. It's in a entirely different league. Busses really hold value too...

Just some random Knifeage ( BIG PICS)

That is a knife made for my wife by a custom maker in the UK. 3mm wide stock convex grind right into a edge. Takes a pretty patina and I keep the edge polished by stropping on 9000 grit sandpaper every couple of uses. Blade is about 3 /34 inches long. White Ivory Micarta handles with...

    Fact check: Permanant flash supressors

I want to check my understanding of the following facts: 1. Start with a 14.5 inch barrel and have a PERMANANTLY attached flash supressor making the over all length over 16 inchs you have a legal barrel as far as LENGTH GOES. Correct? 2. What constitutes a Permanantly attached...

All around survival knife, whats your pick?

Not sure I would want to limit myself to one knife. If I did it might be a Busse Steal heart with a thinned edge. I would rather have two knives Busse BM for shopping and shealter building and fire building A mid sized thinned and convexed Busse for camp chores Tough steal, very rust...

    Knife Sharpening Thoughts??

None of this is true for me or anybody else with basic sharpening skills. I have Yet to see a Factory knife that was not EASY to get sharper than it came. They very idea that you should not use a Self defense knife because it will never be as sharp as "factory" is absurd. A knife just sitting...

    Best way to test sharpness

I like to be able to slice a free standing tube of phone book papar cleanly with a easy swipe of the blade. It takes a sharp knife.... and its fun

    Keeping your blades sharp

I have come to think Stones and Ceramic sticks are just not as good as sand paper. I now use a inch square stick about a foot long with a strip of thin hard leather glued to one side. I wrap various grits of sand papaer on this stick. 60 to 100 grit to reprofile 150 to 220 for final...
