I bought the slugs in the normal boxes of 5 but cut the upcs to send in for a rebate and the slug boxes fell apart so I plunked the slugs in some empty target load boxes that I had laying...

I usually take my tikka in 30-06 but I have put together an ar in 7.62x39 that I am looking forward to taking this year. Its shorter, handier and lighter than my nicer rifle and I dont care if it gets wet or beat up when out hunting

I usually make mine in a pot pie. Slow roast them whole, low and slow then shred the meat off and add veggies in pie crust and bake. There is definitely a trick to skinning them!

Havent used it yet but I have a 7.62x39 that I'm itching to bring along to deer camp it's got a 1.5-4.5x32 scope. It's a light, short/handy and weather resistant rifle. My new stand spot is overlooking a clearing, distances of 80 yards max. I think 7.62x39 will do the job at that range

I'd reccomend taking a look at a tikka, I picked up an older used tikka m658 in 30-06 about a year ago, I think I paid $500. Smoothest bolt cycling I've ever felt, trigger breaks like glass. I've been very happy so far!
