Scope Recommendation For CZ 527 Carbine

If you are still looking for a 2-7x scope, I would check out a burris fullfield ii. I have one on my 30-06 and I really like it

    Lost lost ammo find

I found a byob (bring your own bucket) of federal 22lr copper washed on a shelf with my deer hunting fannie pack/supplies. Dont remember buying it but its 1100 rounds and will feed my buckmark and marlin model 60 for some plinking fun!

    Mission to reduce recoil

I'd look for an older remington 1100 or 11-87. Softest shooting shotgun I've ever hunted with. If it's already beat on cosmetically, I dont mind if I ding it up more. I almost bought an 1100 that was all dinged up for $265. It looked to be the clone of my mint late 1970s 1100

What are you selling during this panic?

I was thinking of selling my AR in 7.62x39 but I shot it some more and carried it deer hunting this year. I kinda fell in love with it. Short/handy and almost 2 pounds lighter than my 30-06 bolt action. Very little recoil. Dont have to worry about it getting wet or dinged up. I think I'll keep...

I saw the gorgeous stock on this tikka and had to have it. It's an older m658 in 30-06

    Optics upgrades

In the next month or two I'm planning on upgrading a few scopes. I carried my AR15 in 7.62x39 this year for deer season and I really liked it. Short, handy and I dont have to worry about banging it around. It currently wears a cheap tasco world class 1.5-4.5x32 that I took a chance on. It works...

Steel cased ammo in a 7.62x39 AR.

Mine runs great with tula, wolf and monarch (I think its academy branded barnaul) Accuracy isn't great 2-3 inches at 100 yards It likes pmc bronze, groups them into 1.25-1.5 at 100 yards I tried some asc magazines and they run fantastic Before the current shortage I was going to stock up on...

Which handgun "PURCHASED NEW" was the best value for the money

My browning buckmark stainless, got it as a package on sale for 279, it came with 3 magazines and a soft case.

    Tikka rings/ mounts?

I went with warne rings that fit the integrated dovetail. Fits my 2-7x35 great, I could probably squeeze a 3-9x40 on with the same rings. I bought the rifle used and did not come with the factory rings. https://warnescopemounts.com/product/warne-1-inch-tikka-pa-med-matte-rings/

You'll never know what you'll find...

Last time I moved I found 2 bricks of 22lr and 2x25 boxes of 12 gauge slugs in reused boxes of target loads! I bought the slugs in the normal boxes of 5 but cut the upcs to send in for a rebate and the slug boxes fell apart so I plunked the slugs in some empty target load boxes that I had laying...

What is you deer rifle chambered in?

I usually take my tikka in 30-06 but I have put together an ar in 7.62x39 that I am looking forward to taking this year. Its shorter, handier and lighter than my nicer rifle and I dont care if it gets wet or beat up when out hunting

    Bear Creek Arsenal AR uppers?

I have a free floated one in 7.62x39 that has been fantastic so far. I'm very impressed for the price. Granted I dont get out to shoot it that much. I've put about 200 rounds through it. Im excited to see how it will do for deer this next season

A Few Questions from a Possible Newb Squirrel Hunter

I usually make mine in a pot pie. Slow roast them whole, low and slow then shred the meat off and add veggies in pie crust and bake. There is definitely a trick to skinning them!

AR-15 hunting calibers, what do/have you used?

Havent used it yet but I have a 7.62x39 that I'm itching to bring along to deer camp it's got a 1.5-4.5x32 scope. It's a light, short/handy and weather resistant rifle. My new stand spot is overlooking a clearing, distances of 80 yards max. I think 7.62x39 will do the job at that range

    $$$ for a ruger mini 30, or $ for a SKS?

Maybe also check out an AR15 in 7.62x39? I really really wanted a mini 30 stainless/synthetic stock as a crummy weather/backup deer hunting rifle but couldnt find one at a price I was willing to pay. I think they are neat but couldnt swing that price tag I shopped some sales and put together...

Ithaca 37 cut or no cut

I would pattern it and if it does ok, leave it as is. I have a remington 1100 with a 24 inch barrel with a cutts attached, I was debating chopping it or leaving it. It patterned sweet with the skeet choke, it's now my go to grouse gun, much handier than the 30 inch mod barrel that I use for...

    Decent scope for about $200?

I faced the same dilemma, I went with burris fullfield II in 2-7x35 on my deer hunting 30-06 and I am very impressed. In my opinion best bang for the buck lower priced but quality scope! 2x gives a large field of view and 7x is plenty of magnification for hunting distances for me in Wisconsin...

Help Needed Selecting Deer Rifle for Gift

I'd reccomend taking a look at a tikka, I picked up an older used tikka m658 in 30-06 about a year ago, I think I paid $500. Smoothest bolt cycling I've ever felt, trigger breaks like glass. I've been very happy so far!

Ruger Mini 14 and Mini 30 accuracy

I really wanted the stainless/synthetic stock mini 30, I figured it would make an awesome rainy day deer rifle but the $800 price turned me off and I couldn't find one locally used. I put together an AR in 7.62x39 for about 1/2 the cost after shopping some sales.
