No scope for me.
I hunt deer and hogs with a saiga in 762x39 with irons. I did replace the rear sight leaf with a Krebs aperture tho.
I usually hunt on the move in heavy brush. 25-50 yards is quite common. But I'd feel comfortable taking a 150yd shot.
CRKT is my favorite. I have several models. Currently I carry a seahawk.
Benchmade and spyderco hang out in my pocket from time to time as well.

One of the local PD issue DAO Beretta px4s. Some of the officers tell me its to prevent accidental shootings... or maybe its cause they got a really good deal on them. Who knows the real reason

I've carried a Sig P226, glock 17, glock 21, Beretta m9, FN FiveseveN.... my favorite of all was the FN. I was more accurate and close and long range and was more comfortable shooting it than any other pistol I had.
I am confident every pistol I named would get the job done quite well, but im...
Guys at the trap range give me crap for bringing my saiga 12, even tho i out shoot them. I know its all in good fun

I recently took a young man to the hospital who had been shot in the head. A .40 Cal round entered the left side of the back if his head and exited through his right eye socket. The shooting happened about 6 months ago. He is very much alive with only a neurological deficit of slighrly...
I use one of the BSA 30mm red dots on my saiga. Bought it for 25 bucks when I was a dirt poor college student. That was 7 years ago, and it still works like its new. Its survived countless drops, rain storms, snow storms...and still going strong. Battery like seems good enough but I always keep...
I have a few shotguns...
Saiga 12

1100
1187
Mossy 500
The 1100 is by far the best and my favorite clay/bird buster. No contest. Should serve you very well.

Saiga 762x39 with hornady vmax. When I hunt I mostly stalk in heavily wooded areas. No 200yd shots for me. I shoot about 2MOA with irons, and that's plenty good for me.
Been very impressed with the vmax ammo. devastating cavities.

I take my saiga12 to the clay range all the time, as well as my rem1100. I don't do any better with one than the other. I can usually bust 23/25 with either. Pistol grip vs sporter stock....18.25" barrel vs 26"....bead sight vs rifle sights...all makes no difference to me.
And yeah, I hunt...
