I've finally decided to change the stock on my "Well loved" '92 vintage m70. I have always liked the look on the 989m2 (99m1) stock. So with some spare time on my hands I bought the m2 stock, scratched and scuffed (WOW real walnut and incredile figure), but I'm doing a total refinish anyway...

I'm retro fiting a Marlin m70 into a 989stock. My question is, would the original 989m2 have had a metal trigger guard, or is it the same plastic one that came with my m70. Thanks folks.
