Aux,
Congratulations!
I think that you got a good deal.
They aren't making any more of the Pre-Internal-Lock Models, so NIB examples will be harder to find.
I like the S&W Bodyguard Airweight, Model 638 or 38.
The Airweight Bodyguard weighs 14 ounces, has a shrouded hammer - to prevent snagging on the draw, and can still be cocked for a single-action shot, rotation-check, or emergency.
I would look for an older Bodyguard. without the...
Well, I'm not too far off the norm.
I like to get the guns really clean, especially the carry and home defense guns.
If the gun will be fired again within a couple of weeks, I'll do a "quick clean" - bore, chamber / cylinder, lube, and wipe it down..... This can be done in about 15...
If I bring three handguns to the range, and shoot for 1.5 hours, I can spend 3 hours cleaning the guns.
What is your ratio: Time shooting your guns vs. time cleaning your guns?
One thing that hasn't been mentioned, is the potential for over-penetration with the .357 Magnum round.
If you live on a ranch, with no family and no close neighbors, this over-penetration issue may not effect you.
For those of us who have family and neighbors, the over-penetration issue...

Hello Rogelio,
I don't know the brand of revolvers shown in your photos, but if I were limited to one of those, I would inspect the revolvers (new or used) in accordance with Jim March's excellent revolver check list:

Was it a "CLICK" instead of a "BANG"?
Was it a "BANG" instead of a "CLICK"?
Was it a .357 Magnum instead of a .38 Special?
Did your gun come apart due to an overchage?
What was your biggest surprise?

You aren't justified in shooting, unless he becomes an imminent threat.
If he gets his hand on your gun, he can stop the cylinder from rotating.
With the hammer...
I would keep my tuned, Series 80, Combat Commander.
Reasons:
I shoot this gun better than any other centerfire, semi-auto, handgun.
It's 100% reliable with factory hollowpoints and Wilson 7-round magazines.
Never needed major parts, but they're available from many sources.
If you are not an LEO, and you can carry either open or concealed, how do you carry most often?
At times when you are not hunting, fishing, hiking, or camping, what advantages do you see in open carry vs. concealed carry?
