    Mosin Nagant Archangel Build Pictures

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah I wanted to turn an already accurate mosin into an even more accurate gun.. Gun was the gun owners hand picked Mosin out of the lot. At 50 yards in its original furniture it shot under 4x4 inch targets no problem. At 36 yards with the ArchAngel each surplus...

    Mosin Nagant Archangel Build Pictures

Mosin Nagant hex receiver mated with Promags Arch Angel stock. The build was a bit more involved that I initially thought.. but I suppose thats how it goes. Timney Trigger, Cerakoted Black and sniper gray, shimmed receiver to stock, cut/turn down bolt, and a Minox ZA5 scope. I've since fired...

Airline leaves my Rifle sitting infront of baggage carousel

Hmmm... Then I dont understand why my firearms end up in the TSA office sometimes? while other times it gets brought directly to the baggage attendant who watches over the baggage on the carousel? Also why was my rifle taken and placed outside the roped area where customer service was? Not...

Airline leaves my Rifle sitting infront of baggage carousel

I flew on AirTran today. Its the carrier I normally choose for this particular trip and I have flown multiple times with firearms using this carrier. I've never had a problem before until today. I went the baggage carousel and informed the baggage attendant that I have a checked firearm that I'm...

Archangel Mosin Nagant Build, Review & Tips

Just finished up an Archangel Mosin Nagant build. Had some issues along the way that I'd like to point out to those who are looking to perform this build on their Nagant. Overall I am happy with this set up as it met my key requirements which were to achieve a reliable magazine fed 7.62x54R...

    Night vision

I have some experience with NVD's. I own a Gen III USNV14 (nearly same housing as a PVS14). I dont have experience with more commercial grade tubes like Yukon, Sightmark, ATI etc. Couple key things to look at or ask for though that most do not talk about.. Ask for that particular tube's...

How can you justify a 2-3000 dollar scope?

Magnuumpwr: Do you feel your $4900 scope offers clear advantages over your 2500 dollar scope? I see your running a 338 lapua cartridge that in my limited knowledge would benefit the most out of the high end scopes because of the range its capable of... It seems like most of us agree on how we...

How can you justify a 2-3000 dollar scope?

LOL I was gonna say he uses it to hit birds and chipmunks that attack his garden. I'm not gonna go into that great of detail with him as Im sure he doesnt care but I'll definitely use that advice when picking out one for me while he shops around

How can you justify a 2-3000 dollar scope?

That makes a lot of sense Taliv. Thanks for the advice on using a chart & technique to compare the different scopes. Taking my father scope shopping for his 22lr target rifle. Suppose it'd be a good time to get an optical chart and try though techniques. I agree DeepSouth... Thats why I put...

    Help on Gun Safe Decisions?

I have a 425lbs 24 gun Cannon safe. I purchased this to protect against mainly smash and grab type burglaries and fire protection. For 600 dollars it is a good safe. But I know it would not keep a professional out or even a guy who brought in power tools. Its superior to Stack On or some of...

How can you justify a 2-3000 dollar scope?

First off I'd like to say that I believe that you get what you pay for and that I can appreciate spending a couple hundred dollars more for a quality scope. I myself own a Minox ZA5, Gen 3 PVS14, Vanguard Spotting scopes, Aimpoints etc... I am willing to spend money for quality/rugged optics. I...

My take on the modern patrol rifle (post yours)

I love that rifle rack in your vehicle lol. A lot of nice set ups fellas. Although my set up isn't light weight, it gives me options and versatility. LMT MRP w/ Battle comp 2.0, Geiselle 2 SSA, ambi charging handle BCM... USNV14 Night vision with a DBAL2... I leave both of these off...

Combat Sig P220, HK P30, HK45 Your thoughts

Yes a suppressor would be great... just been somewhat lazy to fill out the trust fund paper work. No LEO signatures here. Went to the gun shop today and handled the P30 and HK45 again... Superb feeling guns. I spoke with the armorer there as well about the HK's and Sigs.. He did say that he...

Combat Sig P220, HK P30, HK45 Your thoughts

Ok I've been doing my own research on each one of these but have never shot any of these. I know the HK p30 is kinda in another ball park but I want to compare it anyways. I own a combat Sig P226 threaded. I originally wanted the Combat P220 but the deal i found on the P226 2 years ago was...

    Night Vision

My USNV14 lined up perfectly with my Aimpoint Pro with its stock rail mount. I'm not sure how the military chooses between aimpoint and eotech but I've seen both being deployed. NVD's are game changers... and fun as hell
