Need help finding a conversion barrel for my Glock 40 MOS. All I’m finding is for Glock 20s and 40 caliber Glocks. I wanna punch the person that named a 10mm the Glock 40 but that’s another thread.

I think it replaces 9mm….as the minimum caliber I consider useful for self defense.

So the downsides are 1) cost compared to the more established.45 2) almost would have to hand load because almost nothing is available subsonic 3) you’d have to set up the pistol just to run suppressed because switching would cause function issues. The third sounds like the biggest hurdle...

I guess I’m also thinking of it like the 300 blackout type. Subsonic suppressed and full power hypersonic with just a magazine change.

Higher tend to penetrate better. sorry, I had that backwards. I meant 10mm has a higher sectional density.

This might be a stupid question. Wouldn’t a 10 mm make for a better suppressed pistol than the 45 ACP? Couldn’t it be loaded with the same weighted bullets? They could still be sub sonic with lower sectional density, right? What am I missing?

Didn’t know this thread was still going. I took a motorcycle trip to Shoshone National Forest. The holster wasn’t for Michigan camping.

Just got back from the gun store. I got a front pack that’ll hold my bear spray on the outside, my clip flashlight and my pistol for $40. Should be very stable for hiking. Thank you guys!

Looking for recommendations for a holster in grizzly bear country. Thigh or shoulder? Something I can take on a long hike. Pistol is a Glock 40 10mm with a light on the rail.

$50 for fmj 9mm is unacceptable. Buying another gun at these ridiculous ammo prices isn’t gonna happen. It’s like selling SUV’s while gas is $9 a gallon.

Five seven was on my list until I saw that I can shoot civil defense ammo out of a 10mm and do the same thing. 2400fps w/ a heavier bullet.
