I found when I started shooting eyes open that my jaw and neck even were more relaxed. Especially with earmuffs (as opposed to plugs). Also less eye fatigue. It was easy for me to switch because I hadn't been shooting long.

A good movie to watch is Lord of War. It is a not-so-fictional account of arms dealing to the third world, and the consequences (including genocide).

I have what would be referred to as a cabinet, I suppose. It is bolted to the floor and the studs of the wall behind it. It isn't really intended to deter theft as much as mischief and it is adequate to do that.
