There is a gentlemen on here who's son uses a .243 to take Brown Bears with and it works just fine. So a 30-30 on a moose is no problem. I've taken Black Bears with a .223, it's all placement and bullet construction.

The Ukraine's may not be shipping out any ammo as they may need it if they go to war with Russia. 7.62x39 is low or out at many places. Copes, said they are dry and so are their suppliers and no ETA if and when more arrives.

I have done real well hunting big game with a .223 single shot for many years, also have a single shot .308, it has a bit of a kick so I would like a bolt gun, I also love the Finn light but way out of my price range.

The Remington, I can get for $350 and in great shape, I could cut it down to 20" or just buy it and sell it for something better. I don't want to shoot the new RGS just yet. I will be hunting black bear, deer, elk, moose and yotes. The Rem Model 7 is a sweet gun, just real had to come by.

I would like to thank all of you that you have shot is your experience and your feedback and the Ruger scout rifle. I had bought a new one and I was just debating did sell I want to pick it up or did I want to have my ffl sell it. It sounds like a keeper.
