    Is this barrel copper fouled?

That's the idea I was getting from some of the responses I was reading. Your pictures show it on the rifling. Is it a new barrel and rifle? Shooting copper jacketed ammo? Before I shot my rifle, I had completely torn it down and got all the little bits of cosmoline out of everything, so I...

    Is this barrel copper fouled?

I posted something similar when I shot my M1903 for the first time. At the end of the barrel was streaks / lines that were orange colored. They weren't there before. The guy I bought the rifle from never shot it and it has an HS barrel from 1944. Probably when it was rebuilt at RA. It...

How many AR-15's are there at a gun show?

Colt LE6940 A Colt LE6940 was going for $2600-$3000 on the average on Gunbroker a couple weeks ago. A gun show here had the same AR Colts NIB for $3500. I don't know if any were sold, but that was the price Jan. 5, 2013.

    M1903 Bolt C2 Stamp

Thanks for the Vishooter site. It shows the bolt was before the double heat treat which made me wonder if the bolt was also part of the bursting receiver issue as some people have mentioned on other forums. I don't think it does, but I'm still learning.

    M1903 Bolt C2 Stamp

The gun is apart right now because I'm cleaning out the cosmoline that is in the tight hard to reach places like the trigger assembly and the breach area. I did put a snap cap in it and it appeared to contact well and the snap cap ejected fine. The bolt didn't appear to be hard to close or...

    M1903 Bolt C2 Stamp

I have an M1903 Remington Modified that was a Raritan Arsenal rebuild with a scant stock. The receiver is in the Dec. 1942 to Jan. 1943 range. The bolt has a "C2" stamped under the safety lug. The bolt handle goes straight down. According to charts I've seen it puts the date of the bolt...
