Pearl or ivory pics included Rodgers and Spencer

I'm not a fan of faux materials especially in conjunction with traditional pursuits such as Black Powder revolvers. I'm guessing the ivory is faux, so no go. The pearl has a better chance of being "real" if so great, if not, stick with real wood in my opinion.

Buffalo Guns - Butcher's Crossing Film

drought falls under natural causes which was mentioned. If the herd was cut in half before the blamed hunting occurred, that would pretty much prove that hunting wasn't the main factor. Regardless, if 90% of the hunting never happened, we still would not have bison migrating back and forth...

Buffalo Guns - Butcher's Crossing Film

I'm not pushing a fairy tale that humans didn't impact the decline of the bison, but literally deliberate hunting of them was not the main cause. There were other human induced factors, and likely natural ones. If people didn't exist, the bison very well may still be roaming the prairies in...

Buffalo Guns - Butcher's Crossing Film

Yes There wasn't even close enough lead available to have shot them all even if there were enough hunters to do it. The calculations have been done, but I don't have them at hand.

    Euroarms guns are amazing

There are plenty of folks who complain about C&B revolver grips being to small for big hands and such. If you get over trying to fit your pinkie on the grip it all works out beautifully.

Buffalo Guns - Butcher's Crossing Film

Over hunting was no where near the main cause of the "near extinction" of the bison. But many folks would rather blame hunters.

    Euroarms guns are amazing

I've always liked the ASP Revolvers and consider them to be worth a premium over Pietta and Uberti all other things being equal. I agree that they seem to be more authentic in their dimensions and find them to be more naturally pointable even if there isn't any room for a pinkie finger.

    Muzzleloader for Home Defense

As intimidating as a bayonet at the end of a musket might actually be, I wouldn't want to try to wield a 6 1/2 ft pointy thing inside most living rooms or hallways, etc. The bayonet would likely end up stuck in a wall, ceiling or furniture before getting to the bad guy.

    Muzzleloader for Home Defense

If one or more armed intruders broke into my home and the options within reaching distance were my cell phone, bottle of whiskey, firewood, candlestick, and loaded muzzleloader (pistol, revolver, rifle or smoothbore, regardless) I'd choose the muzzleloader, and be glad it was there, but I...

Where do you buy your black powder?

I was thinking there was a good chance that transporting BP in an airplane was a no-no per regulations cuz you know, we have to have regulations

Where do you buy your black powder?

Are you saying your friend loaded 50lbs of Black Powder into his plane and flew it home?

If you were restricted to CC a BP revolver, what would it be.....

Can we stretch the parameters and say 1911 w/ BP loaded 45ACPs? Wouldn't have any problem running at least one mag when called to action before cleaning.

Where do you buy your black powder?

I've been lucky to always have one or two LGS that carried Goex, but I've also bought 25 lbs at a time from Grafs with more choices for maybe 25% less cost.

    BP Barrel Break In

I know some folks that look like they are scared of soap and water. I've never done anything to purposefully "Break in" a barrel. That will naturally come in my opinion, with use and the familiarity gained is just as valuable, if not more.

It took me a years to find out why funnel on some old long guns

The blunderbuss shot pattern is going to have more to do with what's going on near the end of the bore/barrel and how it transitions to a trumpet than the trumpet itself.

Anyone here ever buy one of these BP kits?

There are plenty of dim witted, and/or ignorant folks out there. Life is just too easy in most ways these days that folks don't need to understand or know how to do pretty much anything or have any ambition. Look at the number of folks who would likely die if they had to actually either cook a...
