Why can't my ammo completely fit into the cylinder ( Ruger LCR 9mm revolver)

Not sure it will make much difference, but is this with or without the moon clip?

    9mm Reloading Question

Reading the updates to this thread brings up an important note... A "357" bullet might be .357 or maybe not. For jacketed the common size is .357". For cast bullets it is most common for them to be .358" but they may be offered in other variations to allow you to get better results for your...

    9mm Reloading Question

Oh, another thing to mention is what sort of bullets, as in, jacketed, plated, coated, etc. If lead then soft, hard, whatever. I don't know that this will change any of the answers, but it might pull in some more stories from long time loaders on what seems to work well or work poorly.

    9mm Reloading Question

This was a surprise to me, so I looked at the Wikipedia entry to 357 and 9×19mm Parabellum. They actually show the 357 to be tighter at the lands... Land diameter8.82 mm (0.347 in) << 9mm Land diameter.346 in (8.8 mm) << 375 The main thing to consider is that the finished bullet is generally...

    9mm Reloading Question

Simple answer is "yes". I have not done it, so wait for more replies, but the main thing is that you need to be a bit more careful about working up the load since it will have a bit more tension and thus more pressure. It might also be a time where it would be worth "slugging" the barrel of the...

    Winchester 231

Good choice. I recently switch to Titegroup for 9mm. The good side is that it makes it even cheaper since you use very little per load. That is also why you should not do this. It is too easy to double charge the round. I have to be very careful, but I have also been reloading for a few decades...

So is 25 cents/round the new baseline for purchased 9mm Ball ammo

Being retired and already owning my reloading stuff, it is simple. What else would I do while listening to podcasts? I am currently at: $0.0146 Titegroup $0.0550 Fiocchi Small Pistol Primer $0.0773 tbbullets.com 125gr Poly coated ---------- $0.1469

You Are the Target in a Home Invasion Scenario. Which Defensive Weapon Do You Reach For First?

This is why you might want to consider carrying while at home. A well orchestrated home invasion includes the use of surprise and speed. If you don't carry at home then you better be sure that you have early warning alarms that work 100%. Sure, you have a dog that will alert you. Are you sure...

Powder check die....pretty slick, anyone use one?

I use single stage, so don't have use for one, but I am replying anyway.... I really understand the need for powder checks since I switched to Titegroup for 9mm reloading. A zero charge has always had the worry if shooting too quickly and blowing the barrel. With Titegroup we also have the...

Power cost of running a tumbler?

This is what the "Kill A Watt" meter is made for. My old Ultravibe 10 is very similar. I just turned it on plugged into the "Kill A Watt". It was a pretty steady 43.4 watts. About a kilowatt hour per day.

Ultimate 22LR to deal with hordes of invading tree rats.

I had already watched the video, before seeing this thread, so I remember what he said but I had not *just* seen in, so had to look again. My interpretation of what he was saying is to reply to the folk that think a gatling gun fires all barrels on each "bang". But I do follow what you are...

Ultimate 22LR to deal with hordes of invading tree rats.

One of us is confused, or maybe that was a joke. I am pretty sure that all 5 barrels fire, just like the original Gatling gun. When a barrel rotates around to the top it gets a round fed in. When that barrel reaches the 4 o'clock position it fires.

    Magazine Choice: Ruger PC Carbine

Dredging up this not too old thread to add a note about changing the safety to left hand usage... The Ruger PC Carbine *does* take the same lefty safety that is sold for the 10/22. Not as good as Ruger making it reversible of course.

    Glock 29 or Glock 30?

Make sure to consider the "X-Grip" so that you can run G20 mags with better comfort. I have the G30 and tend to run with G21 mags most of the time.

    New M&P15 with feeding issue?

Update... The Odinworks adjustable buffer finally came in and I have tried it at the low end setting and thus jumping from the original 2.9 oz to 3.7 oz. That was just perfect to balance the overgas. I am now ejecting at 3:00 - 4:30. The failure to feed continues to improve. The last two...

    New M&P15 with feeding issue?

That was my first assumption. I just wanted to make sure and not just burn through ammo if there was something I should be doing. The damaged rounds were almost fully chambered and the bolt was properly "locked" to them, but not fully into battery. I gave a good pull on the charging handle to...

    New M&P15 with feeding issue?

Oops, forgot to note that my testing was with the new 5.56 *and* the original .223. It was not clear from what I wrote that it had not been an ammo issue. In fact it was 10 of the 5.56 and 20 of the .223 used today.

    New M&P15 with feeding issue?

Just back from my third outing. I am still waiting for the adjustable buffer, but I got some American Eagle 5.56 so I went out for a test. The quick report is that it worked 100%. Note that I did not load more than 10 rounds in either mag since I want them to have more round count before I try...

    New M&P15 with feeding issue?

Regarding the question of "starting to run better with additional lube and more rounds", that is my hope. The last set of rounds thru each of the two magazines was flawless. I am mostly waiting to pick up some "proper" 5.56 ammo before the next test. Regardless of .223 vs 5.56 I want to try...

    New M&P15 with feeding issue?

Just seeing anybody say that was enough to get me to call. I briefly noted the issue and asked if it is likely to just be due to needing to be broken in. She did not think they needed it but put me on hold and checked. She came back pretty quick and said that yes, about 500 rounds is expected...
