My cousin and I shoot our .22's at 75 yards and at silver dollar size shoot n see's. It is always a fun time, he has the Ruger Mk II and I have the Browning Buck Mark and he buys me a lot of lunches. :)
"Walked into it" from a legal standpoint would be defined under instigation. Under this you cannot walk into dangerous situations, get attacked and then claim (successfully in most situations) self defense. Your intentions maybe good but it could also elevate the situation.

My comments are being cherry picked at this point an people aren't reading the entire discussion. My case is logical (not popular) if you read it in it entirety. I have also stated that I don't think I can sit and do nothing. I'm trying to bring up the other side of it.
I addressed if it was...

Don't understand the point of TRYING to call me out when im making a point about inserting yourself into a situation identifying that you take a risk.
If a shooting Happens, it can be difficult to claim self defense...
Glocks have unintended discharges because people don't follow the rule "finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot" not because the Glock is faulty.
Looking at things through a legal magnifying glass does not represent my way of life, nor does it predict my actions.
But not to think at all about the legal side of acting with a firearm is (as stated before) like going into the wilderness not knowing or caring that there are dangers.

That is the point. If you interject, you weren't attacked first. You, an armed citizen chose to involve yourself in the threat. I know plenty of liberal prosecutors who would love a case like that.
Thanks for sharing the link. I am still wondering what reliability issues there were specifically. You mentioned you didn't like it, and the comment made by the Official sites reliability and then slams Sig. Sounds like there were negotiation problems or something. The comments on the article...
Very well said. I agree with you. My grandfather wouldn't have hesitated.
He also didn't have to worry about liberal prosecutors with an agenda, police officers having to strictly answer to every decison made and common sense being thrown out the window in the legal system of his time.

Being prepare is why you carry right? This is a byproduct of fear and worry.
Would you wonder into the woods without thinking through what could happen to you? No, you think about it and prepare. This is no different.
Interviening in a situation like this without thinking about it is how...
I know what ifs are sometimes silly, but go with me as staying out of it avoids the what ifs. There is no way to KNOW you wont have to use a weapon.
So take my scenario from above. You yell for them to stop. They pull out knives and come toward you on a tight bus. You get attacked and at...
I understand R.W.Dale's position. I carry so that at the end of the day I can go home to my family. Self defense does not expand to those around you in immediate danger and you have no duty to act unless you are a LEO. That doesn't mean you can't do it, it is just not a requirement.
I...
I haven't heard the reliability piece. I've seen reviews of guys putting thousands of rounds through In competitions without problems. I see sight issues (can't change rear sight) trigger comfort problems but never reliability.
This brings up a good point. With 3 small children in rooms across the hall, my thought would be to pie the bedroom door, look down the hall which is 25 feet long. It has one entrance point and I could light up anyone coming down. I worry about staying put and having to try to engage them In one...
This is a great post because im in the same boat. My carry is a Sig P250 and I feel great shooting it but I have not shot it my last couple of times at the range. I am going to start making an effort to do so.
I agree that sticking with the 9mm. I have a 17 that I use for competition and would also be my End Time Scenario sidearm. In my locality gun shops have to keep a percentage of stock for the local and county police in emergency situations. So during the ammo shortage .40's were hard to find...
After some good cleaning and TLC I have bought a couple of Taurus 82's from jgsales.com. They are in the $150 range and mechanically are good. For pointing, shooting and making noise they are solid guns. and you can always use it as a club. Lol.
