What if open carry never went away...

I doubt many would want to tote around a 40-60oz carry gun. I'd still take a sub-compact 9mm. I also replace my cell phones with smaller models as they are released. I enjoy comfort.

Dr J FRAME what did you do to get the wood piece out, Found the debris causing the wedging during disassembly. Could have happened with any 1911 design. how did it get in there, Probably took a ride inside during a mag insertion. I had chainsaw shavings all over my person and gear. and...

    Scope Rings for AR

Yep. My recommendation would be Badger Ordnance and a 1/2" wrench. I only thow a Swarovski on my AR for 1 week a year(whitetail season). Then it's replaced by my Eotech for another 12 months. I use a set of the all-steel permanent Warnes.

    what about the 357sig??

So it isn't just a local thing. "Local" meaning the entire states of MN, ND, SD, WI & IA. The most loads I've ever seen in one store is 3. This includes Gander Mountain, Cabelas, Scheels and Sportsmans Wharehouse, while there's no shortage of 9mm, .40 or .45acp choices.

Tell me about the Kahr PM9

My PM9 has been 100% reliable and rivals my G26 in accuracy, or Sig 239, G19, G17, and G34 for that matter. Great little guns and half the weight of the baby Glocks when both are loaded to full cpacity. This is the second one I've purchased. The first was a gift to my brother. His has also...

    help me decide quick!!!

I'd look back to previous carry experiences. It's fairly easy to see what's worked on the past. Summer weather in the south...A large auto or compact revolver? It would take me 2 seconds to make my decission. See Username- It's hard to enjoy a vacation if one's contnuously worrying about...

Talk Me Out Of A Colt Gunsite 1911 For Duty

Kinda in a hurry and haven't read through the entire thread yet. I purchased a new Colt Gunsite a little over a year ago. Make sure you handle it before you buy. I special ordered mine and it was REALLY loose. All the movement was between the slide/frame. The barrel & bushing was tight...

Date of Manufacture of my new Glock

KB's In Glocks, the famous culprit is the use of non-jacketed ammunition. It's said lead build-up occurs on the polygonal rifling and causes excessive pressures, thus resulting in a KB. Normally the magazine shears the mag-release and blows it(magazine) out the bottom, though damage has been...

Who has .45acp, M3 grease gun mags?

Off topic but perhaps an interesting fact- The M3 was still in service with 3/7Cav, Ft. Stewert, GA when my enlistment ended in '97. It was primarily issued to tankers, but not very many.

    From Kahr back to Glock

I've owned G26s for the past nine years. It's my favorite centerfire pistol design and I wear one 18 hours a day. They rock! That said, I purchased my brother a PM9 lst year that's very accurate and 100% reliable. I also put one on layaway for myself last Saturday. I'd been waiting for XS to...

I'd like a cheap, reliable, concealable pistol; ideas?

Before you purchase another handgun.... . Why not just attempt some .38 or .38+P and try get that thing shooting straight before moving on. It's most likely "recoil anticipation" that's throwing the magnum shots anyways. I would spend that $200 on practice ammo if it were me. A 9X18 Mak...

    Short Magnums selling well?

The gunshops surrounding the Minneapolis/St. Paul area cater to what we country folk call "City Hunters". In these areas the new magnums are the most popular chamberings being sold, and easily make up 75% of the inventory. I'll stick with my 6mm chamberings(6X45, .243 Win, etc.)

    CSI Issue Handgun

I would chose the Glock. But with all the gear associated with the job--if we were to believe the television series--a more compact model would probably be a better option, like the Glock 19, since your list included a compact design like the H&K P7M8 as well. I would personally take a...

For Everybody Who Complains About the HK P7 Series Getting Too Hot......

Exactly! I have only fired a P7 once. It was 2 mags through the owner of www.stubbygear.com's personal carry. It seemed about as hot as any autoloader with that amount of rounds through it.
